* The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area under the leadership of, Engr Sir Chris Obiorah, has joined their counterparts in training 40 person’s on scientific data collection. The solution data trainee will ensure effective data collection on how government programmes and policies are being implemented at the grassroots. The Coordinator, Solution data, Mr Raymond Atuchukwu, who conducted the training said that the objective is to ensure that government programs gets to the targeted audience.

* The Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS), Anambra State Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla. The car which is valued at about N5 Million was snatched from where it was parked at Achalla Awka-North Local Government Area of the state and was traced to Nise in Awka-South council area where it was recovered by officers of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service.  A statement from the State Hunter Public Relations Officer, SH Aloysius Chibuikem Nneke, confirmed that the car was stolen at Oye market day in the morning at Achalla market in Awka North LGA.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has congratulated member representing Aguata two in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon.Tony Muobike on the final rites and coronation into the Nze na Ozo society of Umuona. Obi described the honour bestowed on Hon. Muobike as a recognition of his values and contributions, eulogizing him as a great asset for the community. She added that, the recognition echoes the enormous values placed in the person of Hon. Muobike, stating that, it underscores Hon. Muobike’s endearing records of contributions and impacts in the community and prayed that, the esteemed role should be a source of strength and conviction for contributing in the community.

* A 40-year-old man who reportedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Anambra State has confessed to the crime. The suspect, Mr. Anietie Tim, who hails from Akwa Ibom State was said to have been on the run since 2022, after he raped the 16-year-old girl beyond recognition in Onitsha, the commercial city of the State. It was also alleged that the suspect was residing at a military barrack in Onitsha, from where he was allegedly evading arrest since 2022 through the help of some military personnel in the Barrack, while he continued boasting to be untouchable and even threatening the mother of the victim for making efforts to get him arrested.

* The member representing Ihiala two constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly Awka, Hon. Golden Ilo says Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has restored water tight security and absolute peace in the communities across Ihiala Local Government Area. Hon. Iloh while speaking recently during a ceremony at Umuona community in Aguata Local Government Area said the insecurity issue in the State is not a media matter because, the Anambra State Government led by the Solution Governor is doing very well in the area of security and the people are happy.

* The Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles O. Esimone, has disclosed that the Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote is set to commence the building of two student hostels in the University. Briefing journalists on recently at his office, Prof. Esimone disclosed that he recently paid a courtesy visit to Alh. Dangote were they had a wonderful and fruitful discussion and as well ironed out the details of the project which is expected to kickstart next month before the end his tenure and hopefully the project would be completed before the end of the year. Esimone informed that Dangote who is an alumnus of the institution having been awarded a honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) of UNIZIK intends to build a male and female gigantic hostels that will address student’s accommodation need for the institution.

* The President General of Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU) in Njikoka LGA, Anambra State, Engr. Dan Zeelunjo Anakpe-Analikukwu on Monday flagged off 2024 Farming season. Anakpe-Analikukwu while speaking during the flagging Off tagged “Nimo Food Revolution War Against Hunger” said the target is to eradicate food scarcity and poverty by cultivating every agricultural land in Nimo Owa, Owe, Mkpuluata, Nkokpo, Agu Nogba and Agu Ekpe. 

* Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra State. Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu says Governor Chukwuma Soludu has not been supportive to the media. Odugwu who is a lecturer in the department of Mass Communication, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka while speaking in an interview recently stated that  NUJ have completely lacked government patronage. 

* The traditional ruler of Umueri, in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Ben Emeka, has pledged his community’s unalloyed support towards the success of the climate change sensitization campaign being executed by the Social and Integral Development Centre, SIDEC in the area.

Igwe Emeka gave the assurance during an advocacy visit by SIDEC to secure community buy-in ahead of the sensitization programme which will be organized for women and girls in the community. The monarch directed the woman leader of the community to mobilize women from all villages of Umueri massively for the sensitization programme.

* Prince Eze-Okeke Chianumba, the Crown Prince of Oroma Etiti kingdom, a community in Anambra West local government council has bagged Doctorate Degree – Ph.D in Administration And Finance at Biblical University USA.

The doctorate Degree was conferred on him by the university study center in Nigeria during their convocation ceremony. Prince Eze Chianumba was born in Holy Rosary Hospital (Waterside) Onitsha, in the royal family of His Royal Highness Eze Nwaezekwe Okeke the traditional ruler of Oroma Etiti Anam.
