* The Anambra State office of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has announced commencement of registration of all unemployed persons in the state. A statement signed by the Anambra State Coordinator of NDE, Chika Ufelle, indicates that the registration commenced on 17th April, 2023 and will end on Friday 5th May, 2023 at the NDE Anambra State office, plot two hundred and sixty-seven Christian Nwokoye Street, Maryland Estate Amawbia for those within Awka and environs. Other unemployed persons in the state not within Awka and environs are enjoined to register at their various Local Government Secretariats or the ones closest to them.

* Leader of Ndigbo International Royal Heritage Organisation (NIROH), Dr Paul Okoye, has called for final resolutions of all cases related to the conduct and outcome of February 25, 2023 Presidential election before swearing in the incoming President of Nigeria. In a statement made available to ANN in Awka, Okoye a human rights activist situated the grounds for intervention to ensure non-swearing in of Ahmed Bola Tinubu as President and Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces on May 29, next month, until all disputations arising from petitions against the declaration of the winner and losers. 

* The traditional ruler of Umueri in Anambra East local government area, Igwe Ben Emeka, said the gradual restoration of security by the government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo will boost business transactions there by improving the revenue profile of Anambra State. Igwe Emeka who spoke in Awka regretted the series of setbacks recorded in business transactions during the period of insecurity especially for those in the hospitality industry.

* The Dr. Ikechukwu Students Career Development Initiative (DIUSCADI) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, have held the third edition of Life -After School Career Development Seminar Series. The seminar which took place at the ASUU secretariat, UNIZIK, Awka, had in attendance undergraduates, graduates, the academia and resource persons from within and outside Nigeria.

* President General (PG), Akpo Development Association (ADA), Nze Henry C. Dim has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for initiating Clean, Green, Sustainable Mantra in Anambra state. Dim made the commendation  at his residence, Ogbo Village, Akpo, Aguata LGA.

* The Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, (PPSSC), Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, has charged principals to raise the standards of schools in Anambra State.

Prf. Ikediugwu gave the charge during the management meeting and interactive session of PPSSC and school Principals held at Mater Amabilis secondary school, Umuoji.

The PPSSC chairman urged the principals to inculcate good virtues in the students by forming rules and ensuring that they abide by them, adding that the rules would work out if the principals create conducive atmosphere for both the teachers and students to raise the standards of the schools

* The re-elected Senator of Anambra South Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has reassured the people of Nnewi that he will leave no stone unturned in partnering with relevant authorities to ensure that their lives and properties are adequately secured. The Senator made the remarks while presenting two hundred out of the 500 (five hundred) units of walkie-talkie and other security gadgets he procured to Nnewi Vigilante Service alone. Senator Ubah who has earlier donated twelve Sienna Vehicles and twenty motorcycles to Nnewi Vigilante Service further thanked Nzukora Nnewi and Nnewi Concerned Citizens for their cooperation and efforts to ensure that the security of every onye Nnewi is guaranteed. He also appreciated them for their encouragements and reassured them that his office will continue to partner with them and other relevant authorities to sustain the admirable security network in the town.
