* In his efforts to buttress operation Clean and Green Sustainable Anambra, the transition Council Chairman (TC) of Onitsha North LG A, Anambra State, Mr. Onochie Ozoma and his lieutenants have commenced drainage desilting after Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has launched the campaign in Onitsha. Onochie who was available at Oguta Road, a flash point where Onitsha North LG held the exercise was busy directing excavator and tippers which were evacuating wastes.
* Shop owners, occupants and business people along Oby Okoli Avenue are not the happiest of people at the moment. This follows the demolition of shops and parts of hotels by the Anambra State Government as it begins the construction of a dual carriage way along that axis.The affected buildings and shops, were earlier marked for demolition by the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, which gave their owners seven days to remove them or have them demolished by the Authority. It was learnt that the demolition affected ATM facilities, churches, and residential apartments located along Oby Okoli Avenue from UNIZIK Temporary Site Junction to Okpuno Village in Awka
* Barely few years after the humiliation meted out to a widow by indigenes of Aguleri community in Anambra State over allegations that she was responsible for her husband’s death; another woman has been subjected to similar humiliation and agonizing treatments over the death of her daughter. According to video trending on the social media, the incident happened at Umueze Uga, in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, over the weekend. It was gathered that, Ogochukwu Ozoemena, a daughter to the victim, died last night —a death many believed to be both untimely, mysterious, and suspicious.

* The panel investigating allegations of killings, extortion and sales of human parts, against some senior police officers in Anambra State has submitted its report. An anonymous blogger, Gistlover had in early February raised alarm, over the atrocious activities of three police officers serving in Anambra State Police Command, which also included the forceful acquisition of properties owned by arrested victims.
* A school proprietress, Lady Pat Okeke has called on the Anambra State Government to continue to support private school initiatives so as to galvanise potential talents in primary and secondary schools. Lady Okeke, wife of the Onitsha based transport mogul, Chief G.U Okeke and proprietress ,Supreme Knowledge Academy said this in an interview with journalists in Onitsha yesterday during the opening of a magnificent three storey building owned by a legal practitioner, Barr. Emeka Anyaoha.
* Anambra State Police Command has denied social media allegations that it arrested and tortured an armed robbery suspect to death in Awka, early this week.
There had been allegations that operatives attached to ‘B’ Division police station in Awka, picked up a suspect, Chukwubuike, after he was arrested by members of a neighbourhood along secretariat road, Awka, and tortured him until he gave up the ghost. But the command on Sunday morning, debunked the claims, saying the information was misleading, and outright falsehood.
