* The Ọzọ traditional society in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area took a bold step to attain greater heights when members of the society converged on the residence of Chief Augustine Ibeki to install him as the patron of the prestigious “Ozo Ene Owulu” of Amaeṅe village of the community. The installation of Chief Ibeki as the patron of the society is one of the critical steps being taken by Ndi Nze n’Ọzọ Amaeṅe Abagana to revive and strengthen the society. The title is given to men with proven and unshakeable integrity and means who are versed in the culture and traditions of their people, have contributed meaningfully to the development of the community and are ready to defend and protect the culture and traditions of their people.

* About sixty novices have been invested into the Knighthood of Saints Paul and Christopher; and Ladies Of Bethany of Awka Anglican Diocese. The investiture which was performed by the Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim also featured the re-dedication of the old knights. The new knights before their investiture swore an oath that they are not members of any secret society and were taken through other necessary steps before they becoming full members of the Knighthood.

* The Director General, South East Governors’ Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife has commissioned Chief Ochendo Obiegbunam-General Hospital Nri road, as part of efforts to enhance community development through improved road infrastructure. The one kilometer road facilitated by Senator Ekwunife, traverses Agulu-Enugwu-Ukwu-Nri General Hospital route and was commissioned alongside community leaders and stakeholders.

During the commissioning, Senator Ekwunife reiterated her commitment to advancing Nri community’s development agenda, pledging further initiatives to improve road networks, including the reconstruction of the Anyafuijiji road Nise to Nri and other vital areas.

* It was a fun filled gathering of the cremé de la cremé from all walks of life joined Igbariam Progressive Union to accord civic reception to the member representing Anambra East Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke. The lawmaker who hails from the community and is the first person from the community to occupy the position hence the reception ceremony. 

Appreciating Ndi Igbariam for the honour done to him, Nweke narrated how the community had fought to occupy the position in the past but received necessary support from Governor Chukwuma Soludo to make the dream a reality. 

*The Joint Security Force in Anambra State has intensified the manhunt for insurgents who attacked two Police Stations in the State recently. The hunt for the gunmen has been extended to Obofia Forest, Aguluezuchukwu and Ogboji areas. According to a release by SP Tochuckwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the Police-led Forward Operating Base that is highly mobile struck the insurgents camps in the aforementioned areas.

* The authorities of Awka South Local Government Area have named a street after the Anambra State commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye. Anambra State Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga revealed this to journalists, with pictures and videos of the signpost showing the name of the street, with the approval from the Awka South Local Government authorities. According to SP Ikenga  the gesture is a reward to the commissioner for the improved security in the state.

* Anambra State Former Political Appointees, a conglomerate of all the political appointees who served under the former governor Willie Obiano from 2014 to 2022 , has threatened to abandon the incumbent governor, Chukwuma Soludo and his All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to work for another political party in 2025 gubernatorial poll if he fails to pay their severance allowances within this month.

The appointees, who included former commissioners, Special Advisers (SPAD), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Special Assistants (SA) and Executive Assistants (EA), said the ultimatum became necessary since the governor was yet to respond positively to their requests which had even been made available to him personally and through different stakeholders.

* The member representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Dom Okafor has inaugurated a 3-in-1 classroom block he completed at Community Primary School, Umuona in Aguata Council Area of Anambra state. The federal lawmaker also inaugurated a batch of all-in-1 solar street lights he executed in Umuona community. The classroom project was sponsored by the Federal Arbitration Panel, Abuja, while the solar projects were sponsored by the Federal Cooperative College, Oji-River, all attracted by Hon Okafor under the 2023 National Budget Appropriation.
