* The enforcement team of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) in collaboration with Anambra State Vigilante Group (AVG) on Thursday April 4, 2024 yook a decisive action to dislodge illegal occupants from an uncompleted building intended for use as a hotel due to concerns over threats and nuisances to the surrounding environment. Prompted by a surge in drugs peddling and other illicit enterprises within the environment, officials of the two combined teams acted swiftly to dislodge approximately 300 individuals hailing from Kano, Taraba, Kogi, Adamawa and various other states, who had unlawfully occupied the structure. 

* Anambra State Former Political Appointees (ASFP), a platform for all the political appointees who served under the former governor Willie Obiano from 2014 to 2022 , have threatened to abandon Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to another political party if he fails to pay their severance allowances within this month (April). The appointees, who resolved this at the end of a town hall meeting held at Awka, the Anambra state capital, decried that the governor has failed to acknowledge the services they rendered selflessly, including their commitments towards his emergence as governor in 2021 amidst the then insecurity and oppositions.

* The leadership of Obeledu Progress Union in conjunction with Obeledu Youth and Sport Development Committee has organized an interactive youth summit aimed at advocating the youths on the visions of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration. It was also a channel to motivate the youths in harnessing their potentials and becoming productive and responsible for future development. Addressing the participants at Obeledu Civic Center on April 2, 2024 the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba commended the organizers of the summit for their effort in bringing the youths together to ensure their progress for future purposes.

* Anambra Muslim Community has expressed deep appreciation, unwavering support and heartfelt prayers to Mr. Peter Obi’s for his enduring connection with them for his leadership role in Nigeria’s future, saying he will be Nigeria’s president one day. Their sentiments were echoed on two significant occasions when Obi graced the mosques in Onitsha and Awka, respectively, to partake in breaking the Ramadan fast alongside the communities, during which he gave them bags of rice and monetary donations. At the Central Mosque in Awka, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, the South East Zonal Chairman of Miyetti Allah, praised Mr. Obi for his consistent presence and unwavering support.

* Former National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) now the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial district under Labour Party, Senator Victor Umeh has expressed his undiluted gratitude to the former presidential candidate, Peter Obi over his prompt political rescue when his enemies planed to terminate his political career on May 28, 2022. Umeh, speaking during his thanksgiving Ceremony at St. Patrick Catholic Church Aguluzigbo in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State said that despite his political estranged with Obi for 10 years he (Obi) carried him along when all hope was lost.

* Ebenator Community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State was agog as the villagers converged at the Civic Center for their periodic Town Union meeting and for election of the leadership of the community’s Youth Wing. The Town Union meeting was an opportunity for the President-General of the Ebenator Development Union (E.D.U.), Mr. Chigozie Henry Anadi to present the four-month scorecard of his new administration, which came into power on December 31, 2023, towards the development of the State.

* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has extended his deepest condolences to the Aniunoh family of Umuoji, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, on the passing of Chief Celestine Olisa Aniunoh, a devoted and dedicated stakeholder of APGA at the age of 62. Barr. Ezeokenwa, accompanied by his entourage, was in Umuoji to pay his respects and celebrate the life of Chief Celestine Olisa Aniunoh. He described the loss as a personal one, sharing his close relationship with Chief Aniunoh, a prominent APGA stakeholder in Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
