* The son of the Governor of Anambra State, Ozonna Soludo has replied people criticizing his way of life. He made a video on his official facebook profile, telling everyone to mind their business and stop meddling into his personal life. In the video he said:

“So many people are very comfortable giving me advice on my life, on my choices, on my dressing, on the things that I like. I am not here to apologize or suit your ego or live according to your standards but to live according to my own standards “

Everyone has a right to live his or her life the way they want, so make una leave our governor pikin.

*The Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde, in a bid to combat vandalism and protect vital public installations, embarked on a strategic visit to the NSCDC Delta State Command to foster collaboration, intelligence sharing, and operational support between the two commands.

During the visit Commandant Maku and Delta State Commandant, Commandant Mathew Ovye, discussed critical security concerns and strategies for policing the two neighbouring states. They identified transborder criminal activity between the two states as a major security concern requiring decisive action to nip it in the bud.

The meeting centered around bolstering trilateral cooperation to tackle the growing threat of violent crimes and safeguard critical national infrastructure, with a specific emphasis on the Second Nigeria Bridge. Their discussions highlighted the importance of Intelligence sharing, enhanced collaboration, and operational support to effectively combat these challenges.

* A Nigerian law graduate, Emmanuella Adaora Otu, has made headlines after graduating with a first-class degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), placing her among the top 1% of the 2024 graduating class.

Otu remarkable journey, filled with leadership roles, business ventures, and academic excellence, has captivated many on social media.

In a LinkedIn post, Otu reflected on her five-year journey in the Faculty of Law, admitting that she entered university without set goals but was determined to achieve excellence at all costs.

* The All Progressives Congress (APC)
Anambra governorship aspirant Sir. Paul Chukwuma has officially resign from the party.

Chukwuma resigned on Saturday, less than 24 hours to the primary election of the APC.

Sir. Chukwuma, a former National Auditor of the APC, while speaking in his residence in Umueri, noted that this period of rest is necessary before he takes a final stand on his next political trajectory.

In his resignation letter addressed to his Ward Chairman, Umueri Ward 2, Anambra East, dated March 3, 2025, Chukwuma
also announced his withdrawal from the upcoming APC primary election, affirming that his support for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope agenda remains steadfast.

“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

“My decision reflects my quest to connect Anambra State to national politics by building a broader, more inclusive political movement within the state in support of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

“While thanking you for your leadership over the years, be assured of my continued support for your shared progressive ideas as i will devote more time to pursuing the realization of a safe and prosperous Anambra state of our dreams. Kindly accept my highest regards.” he stated.

* In a bold defiance of Governor Charles Soludo’s directive prohibiting sacrifices on public roads, an unknown individual has placed a ritual sacrifice (commonly called “aja”) right in front of the newly constructed Anambra Government House in Awka.

The incident, which has sparked reactions among residents and government officials, comes despite Soludo’s firm stance against such practices, which he previously described as unhygienic and archaic.

It remains unclear who is behind the act or what the intentions might be, but it has once again brought the debate over traditional practices and modernization in Anambra to the forefront.

Authorities are expected to investigate the matter, while some residents have taken to social media to express their views, with opinions ranging from cultural preservation to concerns about public safety.

* Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing flood control project in Ekwulobia and Oko and described the progress as commendable despite weather challenges.

The Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Emma Nwafor who also represents Orumba South Constituency, made this known during the committee’s oversight visit to the project site.

Speaking at the site, Engr. Nwafor stated that the project is crucial in mitigating perennial flooding in this area.

He further expressed the committee’s commitment to ensuring quality and timely execution of infrastructural projects across the state, and assured that the Assembly would continue to monitor developments closely.

On behalf of the company handling the project, Engr. Omamofo Ken-Wiwa appreciated government’s support and assured the committee that the project would be delivered according to specifications.

He noted that rain is a major challenge but affirmed that the company will execute a durable and efficient flood control system for the affected communities.

* Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Lands, Mrs. Nkeiru Mokwe says “it has come to the notice of the Ministry of Lands that members of Obidiugwu family of Ogboza Village in Onitsha and some other persons have been selling already allocated plots of land within Trans Nkissi Layout, Phase 2 to members of the public in the guise that such lands belong to the family.

“The Ministry wishes to inform the general public that those who purchase such lands, are doing so at their own risk. The State Government will not tolerate land grabbing by any person or group of persons under any guise. Anyone who wishes to purchase land from any person or group of persons in Trans Nkissi, a Government acquired layout, is advised to conduct proper due diligence on the status of the land.

“The State Government will take all necessary legal steps to protect genuine Allottees of land in Government designated layouts”. Mokwe stated

* Beneficiaries of free Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms and tutorial classes has expressed gratitude for the kind gesture from the initiative of Njikoka Mayor Barr. Chinedu Ononiba.

Students from Njikoka LGA during their
visit to Hon. Ononiba in his office, took the opportunity to thank the Mayor for his commitment to their educational advancement.

In his remark, Hon. Ononiba commended
the students’ hard work and determination, promising to further motivate them. He assured the students that those who excel in their JAMB exams, who score high marks and gain admission into tertiary institutions—would be awarded scholarships from his administration.

* The Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Felix Odimegwu says it is one month since a circular on “Operation desilt your waterways 2.0” was released to ndi Anambra, and that the deadline for the exercise is over which is why they are in the streets of Anambra for enforcement and prosecution of defaulters.

The enforcement and environmental inspection/awareness tour which started from Awka road, G.R. A Onitsha through Court Road, Holy Trinity Road, Bridge head down to Obosi dumpsite, Nnewi collation points and dumpsite where waste management situation were assessed and evaluated to ensure proper Environmental cleaniness, Conservation and sustainability of the citizen.

Engr. Odimegwu who led the tour with his team which comprises; Ocha Bridgade officials and Environmental health officers at Onitsha, Obosi and Nnewi cities, emphasis on the importance and proper disposal of hazardous materials to waste pickers/aggregators on site and abatement notices were served on the defaulters and prosecution follows suit.

* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has congratulated Master Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, the 15-year-old painting talent who just set a Guinness World Record with the painting of world’s largest canvas.

Master Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, who is living with autism, made history when his work was unveiled at the Eagle’s Square, Abuja, on April 2, as the largest hand-made canvas by an individual in the globe.

In her congratulatory letter, which was released in Awka, Mrs Soludo described Master Kanyeyachukwu as a definition of tenacity and resilience and praised him for not allowing his condition to deter his talent.

She described the JSS3 student’s courage as a huge point of reference and massive inspiration for children all over the world who may be facing challenging choices as a result of life’s uncertainties.

The governor’s wife also commended the latest champion for once again, putting Anambra State on a global map and for representing excellence, industry, and ingenuity for which the state is known for.
