* The member representing Anaocha One Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Ebele Ejiofor has advocated drafting of new constitution to accommodate emerging issues of good governance for greater benefit of the people.
The legislator made the call in Awka while baring his mind on restructuring of the nation’s political structure. Ejiofor who expressed concern over the constitution said a new constitution for the country has become necessary in view of the inherent flaws of the 1999 constitution as amended.
* House of Assembly member-elect for Ihiala 2 State Constituency, Golden Chukwuebuka Iloh, says hope has finally come to Okija and Ebonesie with his election into the 8th legislature of Anambra State. Comrade Iloh, who won his election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and has equally received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said the hallmark of his stewardship at the State Assembly would be to mentor, as well as groom those at the grassroots for legislative and other leadership positions.
* The Traditional ruler of Umuoba Anam, Anambra East Local Government Area, Igwe George Ekwealor has called on Ndi Anambra to support the clean, green and sustainable Anambra initiative of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. Igwe Ekwealor while speaking in his Palace at Umuoba Anam said that the initiative will help to entrench a clean and healthy society. The traditional ruler who commended the Governor for his numerous developmental strides, urged Ndi Anambra to support the programme and ensure that they dispose their waste properly.
* The member representing Awka South constituency 2 in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye has felicitated with the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor as he marked his 46th birthday. In his goodwill message, Hon. Okoye described the speaker as a vibrant and dedicated leader with excellent political dexterity, who is purposeful and positive in leadership, having made meaningful contributions to the advancement of the State.
* The State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Sir Norbert Obi has set up a disciplinary committee to look into activities of erring members of the Party.
ANN reports that the State Chairman urged them to carryout their activities efficiently, transparently and with utmost honesty. The committee is to be chaired by APGA State Auditor Chief Nchekwube Antony Dunga while Hon. Barr Chidi Anasiudu will serve as Secretary. Other members of the committee include; Hon. Christopher Oramulu, Hon. Vero Nweke, Hon. Chigozie Ezionye, Hon. Sylvanus Udezuka and Hon. Felix Obunadike.
* There is tension in Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA headquarter, as the officials of Anambra state government and the contracting firm awarded the job of the Ekwulobia Flyover and ancillary projects began to mark houses and structures for demolition as the project is set to take off.
Among the properties marked for either demolition or its part to be removed are the Union Bank, Total Filling Station, Zenith Bank, First Bank, Access Bank,City Mall on Oko road, Mrs Obi Okoli Shopping Plaza, the major buildings around the Ekwulobia Motor park and environs.
* Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim says the state government will not hesitate to terminate the appointment of any incompetent waste evacuation contractor in the state. Deputy Governor Ibezim stated this during a meeting with waste evacuation contractors and Transition Committee Chairmen from across the state at the Government House in Awka.

Deputy Governor Ibezim stated this during a meeting with waste evacuation contractors and Transition Committee Chairmen from across the state at the Government House in Awka.
The Deputy Governor, who restated the commitment of the Soludo government towards achieving clean, green and sustainable state for Ndi Anambra in no distant time, said that the Soludo administration will not allow anything that will truncate the vision.
* To ensure enduring inclusive voter participation, the Anambra State chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability, (JONAPWD) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) to address challenges observed by its members who participated in the just-concluded 2023 general elections. The challenges, according to a statement by the state Chairman of the association, Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke, and the state Publicity Secretary, Comrade Chidimma Ajemba, included lack of accessibility to some facilities where polling units were located by the physically challenged, especially wheelchair users, lack of sign language interpreters for the deaf voters, and unavailability of EC40H and EC30E forms.
