* The Transition Committee Chairman of Ekwusigo local government area, Hon. Chimezie Obi says Governor Chukwuma Soludo is committed to giving Ndi Anambra quality governance. Speaking in his office at Ozubulu, Mr Obi said that the multi facet approach to governance by the Soludo led administration is part of a move by the government towards making Anambra livable, green and prosperous Homeland and charged the people to continue with their support to his administration. He urged the people to help in realizing the green and livable Homeland initiative of the Soludo administration by making all their environment clean, livable and prosperous through dumping of refuse inside all the receptacles provided by the government in their various Communities.

* The Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Mrs Ify Obinabo has collaborated with the Anambra State Police command in apprehending one Ikechukwu Okigbo for allegedly beating up Mrs Joy Nwabuobi in Awka. According to Mrs Nwabuobi, Mr Okigbo was her late brother’s driver, but the issue happened after she asked him to repark the car because of the constant complaints by the tenants. She also said that she quietly urged Mr Okigbo to repark but unfortunately, the whole situation took a different turn when the middle-aged man pounced on her and left her with injuries.

* The Anambra State Government has warned residents, business owners and religious houses against noise pollution.

The Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere gave the warning while serving demand notice to business owners in Awka that are creating unhealthy noise to the environment. Anere told the people of Anambra to keep in mind that the state’s environmental laws that prohibit noise pollution and other environmental violations which can have negative impacts on human health are still in effect.

* The Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has asked parents to invest more time in teaching their children the values of love, kindness, and hard work and dwell less on possessions and acquisition of wealth. Mrs Soludo who was speaking in Awka, when she hosted members of the women wing of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, explained that most parents have heaped undue pressure on their children by pushing them to prioritise material gains over basic values of life.

* The Peace Corps of Nigeria has held its retreat and Leadership training course for Principal Officers nationwide. The event tagged “Navigating leadership challenges through resilience and flexibility in command-and-control setting”, was held in Abuja where various state commands joined virtually. The hybrid training is to ensure that the personnel participate actively in the enriching programme which is a brain child of the National Commandant of the Corps, Professor Dickson Akor in repositioning the command while awaiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s assent to the peace corps bill.

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Hon. Don Onyenji and his entourage have inspected the Osukude, Osinigwe water falls and Oliolio stream all in Nsugbe, Anambra East Local Government Area. Speaking after the inspection, Comrade Onyenji noted that the exercise is part of the exploration, profiling, documentation and the process of developing heritage sites in the state, which were approved by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. He said that ths on-the-spot assessment of the place is towards making it a tourist site where people can come and look around and see life in its natural state from all parts of the world.

* Landlords and Residents of Awada Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State have elected a new executive to pilot the affairs of the community. The election which took place at Awada Central Landlords Association secretariat attracted government officials, stakeholders, military and security agencies who saw to the smooth and hitch-free electoral process.

The newly elected executive has Chief Patrick Onyediuba as President, Sir Okechukwu Nwabueze as first vice president, Comrade Walter Ohiri as second vice president, Comrade Hilary Ogbacharu as secretary and Mr Chinedu Njoku as Assistant secretary.
