* Members of Joint Transporters Forum of Anambra State (JTFA) have urged the state governor Prof Charles Soludo to lessen his tax burden on them. JTFA made up of all transport unions in the state said the heavy tax imposed on them by the governor is turning them into slave as they work every day with nothing to take care of their families. They said that they are only working to meet up with the government tax needs and abandoning others responsibilities.

* Team Anambra contingent made up of athletes and officials have arrived Enugu for the South East zonal eliminations for the 7th National Youth Games (NYG) which holds from Friday to Sunday. Team Anambra, comprising of 78 athletes and 24 officials, which includes coaches, technical and medical staff, left Awka on Friday morning after a short briefing from the Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ASSDC), Patrick Estate Onyedum at the Commission’s office.

* The President General, Ivite Anam Town Union, Anambra West Local Government Area, Comrade Chukwujekwu Ofordile has called on the federal government to find a lasting solution to the perennial flooding devastating his people.
Comrade Ofordile who made this appeal, regretted that the annual flooding which has thrown ndi Ivite Anam and the entire local government to irredeemable anguish if not checked and stopped, may threaten the existence of his people.

* First prosecution witness in the case between Anambra State Commissioner of Police and Chief Chijioke Okaa and Olufemi Salako at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Nnobi, Idemmli South Council Area, Mr Bonaventure Ezekwenna has told the court that first defendant destroyed the fence of his property and took away building materials he purchased for the project. Mr Ezekwenna was testifying under cross examination by counsel to the second defendant, Barrister Tochukwu Arugbaonye.

* Popular Nollywood star James Ikechukwu Esomugha popularly known as Jim Iyke stated that he has remained very conscious of what he eats, which has greatly helped his overall health, and has not been to a hospital for treatment in the last fifteen years. Jim Iyke explained during the recorded programme, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Talk Show, that the secret to healthy living is taking intentional steps about what one consumes and the time they do so too.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described the youth as an important component of the society and back bone of every nation. In his goodwill message to the youth of the State as they join their counterparts in celebrating this
year’s International Youth Day, Udeze enjoined the federal government to map out solid youth empowerment programmes to engage the youth into meaningful ventures.

* Dr. Chike Obidigbo, a  former governorship aspirant in Anambra State and an Industrialist says Nigerian government doesn’t collect up to ten percent of its oil revenue and that the rest of the world is taking advantage of our ineptitude and they just come here and drill and take away to the extent that you see chips of our oil all over the world.

* The National Coordinator, All Progressive Grand Alliance Media Warriors’ Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, has disclosed that the Anambra state government under Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has achieved tremendous success in the battle against touts and other unscrupulous elements in the state. Obigwe, who spoke in Awka on Thursday against the backdrop of protests and request by shuttle bus drivers that touts (Agbero) should be banned in Anambra, disclosed that many of the touts have been jailed for various offences while others were facing prosecution.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has praised the Navy and all security agencies operating in Anambra state, for the sacrifices and described their job as a calling that should be respected.

Soludo while speaking when the recently appointed Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, revealed that there is increased need for Navy presence in the State because of the oil theft and bunkering going on at the Ogwuikpele area of the state.

* The Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Sir Ifeatu Obi-Okoye has felicitated with the youths as the world marks International Youth Day.
Anambra State APGA Chairman, Chief Obi-Okoye commended Anambra youths for their steadfastness and commitment towards the growth and socio- cultural development of the state , inline with Governor Charles Soludo’s agenda for Sustainable growth , productive and liveable homeland.

* Nigerians have been advised to be conscious of what they eat and avoid dumping chemicals into their body in the name of food consumption.
A nutritionist and wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, gave the piece of advice while speaking with journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
