* Anambra state house of assembly will innugurate house committee chairmen and secretary on wednesday August 2nd 2023. Anambra Speaker made the announcement during plenary on Tuesday, urging them to come with their standing order.
* Awka South Council Area Strike Force Team has begun a joint security patrol to encourage residents of the council area to go about their normal businesses and end the incessant Sit-At-Home Orders by non-state actors. The joint security patrol which kicked off from Awka South council headquarters, Amawbia made a stop over at Awka Central Police Station before going to Arroma, Agu-Awka, Obizi Isiagu, made inspections at Eke Nibo before terminating at Nise.
* Wife of the Governor of Anambra State Mrs. Nonye Soludo has visited Nteje Rehabilitation Centre, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka and Community Children’s Home also in Awka in commemoration of her fifty-third birthday. At Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka, the governor’s wife cleared hospital bills for ten women who just put to bed, including one who gave birth through caesarian section.
* Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Tuesday August 1st commissioned the temporary site for the Solution Innovation District located at De Destination Hub, Awka. The Innovation district which is a one-stop shop for youths in the areas of services and innovation, will provide training, incubation, and access to internet for youths with steady power supply.
* The need to provide conducive atmosphere for quality teaching and learning where children would be tutored in both character and learning has been emphasized. The Pro-Chancellor, Legacy University, Okija, Professor Leonard Nkameme made this emphasis at the University’s matriculation arena during the institution’s seventh matriculation ceremony. Over 250 students were admitted into Legacy University,Okija to study various courses.
* Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Commissioner for Transport to as a matter of urgency, evacuate all the trucks and lorries that are stationed along Onitsha – Enugu express way around the old Ogbunike toll gate and around Stanel Filling Station Agu Awka to avoid impending road mishap. The member representing Anaocha 2 Constituency, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu while moving the motion stated that part of Onitsha Enugu express way is presently wearing a face lift owing to some construction works that took place on one side of the dual carriage way.
* Four deacons have been ordained priests by the Bishop Anglican Diocese of Niger West, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe. The ordination took place at the Cathedral Church of St. Gabriel Umueri, Anambra East Council Area. The new priests are Chinedu Anyaenyi, Marcel Chukwuemeka, Paul Edochie and Marcel Chukwukelu while Egwuchukwu Eruchalu was made Deacon.
* Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Collins Nwabunwane has stated that before the present administration, the state local were in total disarrayed. According to Nwabunwane,when the present administration came on board local government administration in the state was nothing good to write home about. The commissioner who spoke to news men at the weekend said that workers in various local government service were not going to work because there were no working facilities for them to do their works.
* Anambra-East Council Chairman Dr. Anslem Onuorah says he is replicating the Solution Agenda in the council area following his rescue mission to redeem Umueri, Aguleri and other communities from developmental backwardness. Onuorah who said that his administration has touched all the communities in the council area, noted that his rescue mission ranges from provision of infrastructure, renovation of facilities as well as training and empowerment of the locals.
* Anambra Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the commissioner for works, to ensure the continuation and speedy completion of the ongoing road construction work at Ezego, Ubahuekwem Osoakwa road and Oluoha Okechukwu road in Ihiala local government area so as to open up the area for enhanced business activities and revenue generation. Chief Sponsor of the motion Hon. Jude Ngobili the member representing Ihiala one constituency, during his presentation, said the state government is poised to make Anambra state one of the most habitable states in Nigeria via the construction of good road networks in the state of which without bias, we all can testify to this
