* Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has called for the support of the private sector in the development of the sports sector to enable it thrive. Deputy Governor Ibezim made the call when executive members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN South East zone, led by the Vice President, Mr. Frankie Omokhua paid him a visit in his office at the Government House, Awka.

* The TC Chairman of Dunukofia LGA Mr. Onyemaobi Augustine Nonyelum has hosted
APGA executives and the 14 Wards Principal Officers. Addressing the party executives, the Mayor expressed his happiness in regards to the large turnout of the party members. He encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the party and work in the interest of APGA and being royal only to the party, he preached peace and unity amongst the party and promised to finance the party monthly meeting at the Local Government level.

* Anambra state government has restated commitment towards the welfare of Corps members serving in the state. Anambra state Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo stated this at the swearing-in and opening ceremony of the 2023 Batch B Stream 2 corps members orientation programme at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Permanent Orientation camp Umuawulu-Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.

* Anambra State Governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo has presented certificates of recognition to four newly elected traditional rulers at the ANSEC Chambers, Government House, Awka. The traditional rulers are: HRH Igwe Alexander E. Azike (Idu III Igboukwu), HRH Igwe Ikechukwu S.C. Ezeofor (Ezedioramma II Umuona), HRH Igwe Barr. Mkpuorah P.S. Ngini (Igwe Gidigidi I Isuaniocha) and HRH Eze Augustine I.C. Nwangwu (Eze Ohazurumee Ajali).

* The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs in Anambra State, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne has again reiterated that any local government chairman not performing in his council area will be removed from office and a more competent person will take his job. The Commissioner who spoke exclusively with our correspondent in his office at the Government House Awka, explained that being a local government chairman isn’t a meal ticket and that such sensitive position is entrusted in the hands of one with the requisite administrative acumen to propel grassroots development in line with the Solution Agenda.

* The Anambra State Government has condemned in its entirety what it sees as exploitation of enrollees of the State Health Insurance Scheme by some hospitals in the state. Managing Director of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Simeon Beluonwu Onyemaechi, who expressed government’s position on the matter while speaking exclusively with our correspondent in his office in Awka, stressed that government indeed frowned on the development because it is not owing any hospital under the scheme.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon. Anthony Collins Nwabunewanne, has dedicated an award for outstanding service to humanity and society “ conferred on him by Obev Industries Ltd Port Harcourt, (the publishers of Freenews Magazine), to the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo. The Commissioner while receiving the award at his office, Government house Awka, described governor Soludo as one who has done a lot in less than two years to improve the welfare of the poor especially, at the rural areas.

* The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim has inaugurated the joint task force enforcement team of Dobe Awka Ocha. Inaugurating the enforcement team, Dr. Ibezm said that environmental cleanliness and sustainability is Paramount to the administration Governor. Chukwuma Soludo

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji has charged workers in the state to be more committed to their duties to ensure improved service delivery.

Commissioner Onyenji gave the charge during the sent forth party organized in honour of a former Director in his ministry Mr. Emma Umeokana. Comrade Onyenji reminded them that civil service will enable one live a middle-class life as well as help model the character of the person.

* More facts are emerging in the case between State Commissioner of Police and Chief Chijioke Okaa and Olufemi Salako at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Nnobi, Idemmli South Council Area. The Court was presided over by Chief Magistrate Ken Nwoye. Still testifying during cross examination by Counsel to the first Defendant Barrister Charity Ndife , the second prosecution witness, Miss Victoria Mbachu told the court that she did not conspire with with the second defendant Olufemi Salako to run away from Nnobi after selling the property to the compliant, Mr Bonaventure Ezekwenna and has no intention of relocating from her home to any other place in spite of pressure from the second defendant.
