* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South local government area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has commended Anambra First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo on her impact to the progress of women, education and health in the state. She made the commendation during the second Anambra Women Health Summit and distribution of items to schools that won in the competition of healthy living seedlings/Garden competition organized by Healthy Living Initiative, stating that the competition was an encouragement for the students to read and learn more.

* The Anambra Sports Development Commission, (SDC), has kicked off preparations for the U15 National Youth Games scheduled for Asaba, Delta State in September. The Director in charge of Technical in the Commission, Emeka Obidimma while speaking in Awka said that trial, screening and selection of athletes will hold from August 27 to 28th. According to Obidimma, the selection exercise is for the 21 sporting events the state is expected to participate in.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Njikoka LGA, Hon. Barr. Chinedu Ononiba receives Njikoka Former Elected Councilors of 2014-2016. The delegation of former elected councillors, expressed their support to Hon. Ononiba candidature. The Mayor of Njikoka while speaking admonished the former councillors to strive in their various wards to strengthen APGA. He urges them to continue to work for the progress of the party.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze has paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of the State as well as past and present Governors of the State for their selfless service and genuine commitment towards the peace, unity and development of the State. In his goodwill message to the government and people of Anambra State as the State marks her thirty-third anniversary, Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that despite the difficult economic realities facing the country today which have affected the finances of States, the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has continued to address the challenges by recording giant strides in all sectors of the State economy and also improving the living standard of the citizenry.

* The Ifitedunu Town Union – Women Wing have assured the Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia LGA, Hon. C. C. Ozumba Esq. of the community’s undiluted loyalty and unflinching support to his administration as well as his aspiration in the September 28, 2024 local government elections in the State. The Ifitedunu women made these assertions while playing host to the Dunukofia TC Chairman, Bar. C. C. Ozumba during their Women’s general meeting in commemoration of this year’s 2024 August Women (Home & Abroad) meeting.

* Anambra State Government under the leadership of Prof Chukwuma Soludo is strategically keying into the national policy on transportation while it considers floating an airline or partnering other airlines to meet people’s demands. The state’s Commissioner for Transport, Patricia Igwebuike disclosed this at the just concluded 9th All Nigeria Airport Business Summit and Expo, with theme, “Addressing Airport Viability as a Key to Successful Aviation Business Ambition,” held at NIGAV Centre, Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to her, the Chinua Achebe International Cargo and Passenger Airport, situated at Umueri, which will be three years by December has done over 5,700 flights and over 343,000 passengers.

* Anambra State APGA Woman Leader Hon. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi has congratulated first lady Anambra State Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo, CEO Healthy Living on her conferment into chieftaincy title as Mmili Gulu-Egu one of Isuofia. The woman leader in her congratulatory message describes Dr. Nonye Soludo as a embodiment of humanity, love, care and knowledge. She added that this great honour will serve as a testament to the good works, which she is doing in the lives of Anambra women and children’s.

* The councillorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Awkuzu ward 4, Hon. Ikechukwu Brown Achebe has pledged to give priority to youth empowerment under his ward if supported in the forthcoming council election. Hon. Achebe promised to be accessible, accountable and responsive to the needs of the people for the development of the council. The aspirant, Hon. Achebe said, he will intensify on poverty alleviation programmes with a specific focus on youth employment and empowerment, as he declared that an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Oyi LGA, Hon. Emma Nweke has reiterated his commitment to serve the people of Oyi council area. He said that his mission is to complement the effort of Governor Charles Soludo at grassroot. In the era where economic hardship and constantly rising cost of living has become a hydra-headed problem for the teeming mass of average people, the only true way forward towards actualizing the goals of a true democracy is by supporting Hon. Emma Nweke said.

* The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra Sector command, has warned drivers in the state to desist from overloading their vehicles on transit, particularly with goods and human beings. The state’s Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander, issued this warning during a meeting with the representatives of various drivers unions at Amawbia, Anambra State. Alexander disclosed that the warning became imperative as the command has observed that drivers were in the habit of overloading their vehicles both with passengers and goods in a manner that becomes a burden and obstruction to other road users.
