* Political support group under the aegis of Soludo Ambassadors led by the convener, Hon. Ossy Onuko, has called on the residents to join hands with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to build a state that will strive economically. Hon. Onuko in his message to mark 33rd anniversary of the state, said, its a great day in the history of Anambra State.
* Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the ongoing construction of the Solution Fun City in Awka, highlighting its potential to boost tourism, improve the state’s economy, and enhance the quality of life for residents. The Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Emma Nwafor who also represents Orumba South Constituency, gave the commendation following the Committee’s inspection of several major projects currently ongoing in the state capital, including the Solution Fun City and a ten-storey five-star hotel in Awka. The Committee during the inspection, was given a detailed tour of the construction sites, allowing them to check the materials being used, assess the progress and quality of the work being carried out, which they observed were in conformity to standard.
* The State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye says the massive projects accomplished by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the state will give the party landslide victory in the forthcoming Local government elections.
Chief Obi-Okoye stated this while speaking with journalists in Awka. While commending Governor Soludo for keeping his promise of conducting the local government election, Chief Obi-Okoye said that APGA will use the election to show that it has the capacity to win next year’s Anambra governorship election.
* Southeast Governors have been urged to emulate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s ‘Farm to Feed’ initiative to achieve food security for the zone. Speaking in Awka, an APGA Chieftain, Dr. Mike Omenugha said the programme would provide permanent solution to economic hardship. Omenugha said the Initiative would enable the state achieve sufficiency in food production, end hunger, poverty and economic hardship as well as create steady sources of income and employment opportunities for families. He noted that this would effectively tackle the challenge of crime and social vices as youths and other members of the society would now be actively engaged in productive ventures.
* Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has Ordaine twenty deacons at the Chapel Of Redemption, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The ordinands were administered with different oaths such oaths of allegiance to God, submission to synod and oaths of canonical obedience and were exposed to the ministry of deacons in the church of Christ. Speaking shortly after their ordination, Archbishop Ibezim explained that all the ordained have undergone the requisite training and have been chosen by God to expand his kingdom.Â
* Anambra State Government has begun the installation of CCTVs in all the markets in the state. The installation of the CCTVs was kicked off at New Auto Spare Parts Market, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area. The Engineer handling the contract, Mr Bobfrancis Chukwugozie while speakingÂ
stated that the installation of the CCTVs is to curb incessant breaks-in and all forms of crimes recorded in markets.          Chukwugozie disclosed that he chose to start with New Auto Parts Market, Nkpor because of its organization and will from there move to other markets. He assured that the installation will be completed in one month.Â
* The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC, has assured political parties and residents that the upcoming Local Government elections in the state will be free, fair and credible.
The Chairman of ANSIEC, Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe gave the assurance in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area where they kicked off their tour of local government areas and interactive sessions with stakeholders in Idemili North and South local government areas. Osakwe who was represented by Commissioner in-charge of Information and Publicity, Sir Anthony Nnalue, denied the claims that the results of the upcoming elections had been written, saying it was a cheap propaganda to discourage the electorate from participating in the poll.Â
* Anambra State Government has warned residents of the rising water levels of the River Niger. Flood prone Local Government Areas such Anambra East, Anambra West, Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Awka North, Ihiala and Ogbaru are advised to be alert. According to a statement by the Director General, Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), Mr Umar Mohammed, floodwaters from countries in the River Niger system are gradually moving towards Nigeria, starting with Kebbi State. The development is attributed to upstream activities in Niger Republic and Mali.
* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of the State as well as past and present Governors of the State for their selfless service and genuine commitment towards the peace, unity and development of the State. In his goodwill message to the government and people of Anambra State as the State marks her thirty-third anniversary, Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that despite the difficult economic realities facing the country today which have affected the finances of States, the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has continued to address the challenges by recording giant strides in all sectors of the State economy and also improving the living standard of the citizenry.Â
* The immediate past member that represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe has called for the establishment of at least thirty Internally Displaced Peoples’ camps in Anambra, ahead of the predicted flood in the state. This is coming as the National Meteorological Agency had announced impending flood incidents across major states of the federation that are situated at the coastal regions. According to Obidigwe who was the House Committee Chairman on Environment and Ecology while at the green Chambers, it is always devastating that when flood comes, the worst victims are women and children while farm lands are destroyed.
