* The Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Hon. Augustine Nonyelum Onyemaobi says Prince Arthur Eze deserves to be immortalized while alive. The Dunukofia Mayor while speaking at Eze Oranto Village Ukpo, during a courtesy call and presentation of a street naming certificate and video reports of the Soludo Agricultural Revolution in Dunukofia, sponsored by Prince Arthur Eze, thanked him for his benevolence and support towards his administration, stressing that he is indeed the father of all.

* The member representing Orumber South constituency Hon. * The socio-cultural group known as Team Make Ogbunike Great (TMOG) has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State to invest hugely in the Ogbunike cave in Oyi Local Government Area of the state to increase internal generated revenue of his government. The group said the cave has the potential of adding N40billion annually to the economy of the state if her tourism possibilities were well harnessed. Speaking at a media parley recently, the group’s Coordinator, Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili regretted that previous governments’ approach to harnessing the potentials of Ogbunike was more theoretical than practical. He described Ogbunike as a billion dollar economic hub, with gigantic but under-utilized tourism, stressing that government’s inability to tap into the town’s potential smacked of shortsightedness on its part.

* A former President General, Amagu Development Union, Ajali, in Orumba South Local Government Area, Anambra State, Chief Stephen Anekwe, has advised the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, to use Anambra’s citizens that have acquired land spaces to drive his oil and cocoanut palm revolution project so as to achieve the objective of the programme. Chief Anekwe, who gave the advice while speaking with the press recently in Awka, faulted the current implementation strategy of the programme, saying it might mar the economic objective of the policy.

* Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) Mr. Mike Ozoemena said the state government is willing to partner with both public and private sectors who has the capacity to work in the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo as regards recycling of plastics. Mr. Ozoemena while speaking with reporters on Monday August 28 after appearing before Anambra state house of assembly committee on public accounts chaired by Rt. Hon. Nobel Chukwunonso Igwe.

* The Nigerian Girl Guides Association (NGGA) Anambra State Chapter, has expressed worry over increased cases of rape, child trafficking and domestic violence against girls and women in the country. The NGGA National Commissioner (Training), Dr Helen Obi, expressed the worry in Awka, the Anambra State capital recently during a press briefing on the activities lined up to mark the association’s 100 years anniversary in the state.
