* The Anambra State Government has unveiled series of directives targeted to mitigate the negative occurrence and engender sanity in the state’s building and approval processes. The directives were announced by the Executive Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, ANSPPB, Barr. Chike Maduekwe, during a press conference at the ANSPPB headquarters in Awka, Anambra State Capital. The state government is saying that the spate of buildings collapse is becoming alarming and has directed that all developers handling projects are required to bring their approval documents for revalidation.

* The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has extended warm congratulations to his Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Barrister Tobechukwu Kenechukwu Nweke, and other lawyers from Anambra State, on their prestigious elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC). In his congratulatory message signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, Soludo stated that this esteemed recognition is an acknowledgement of Barrister Nweke’s outstanding achievements and dedication to the legal profession.

* As a result of the nationwide hardship protest planned to commence on the 1st of August across the country, the Southeast World-class Digital Summit, scheduled to happen in Enugu has been postponed. The summit will now hold on the 19th of September, the organizers have said. The Chief Executive Officer of Michnet Concept International, organizers of the summit, Engr Mike Nebo, made the disclosure on during a chat with newsmen in Awka.

* The Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (Ocha-Brigade) has stressed the dire need for property owners to carryout Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) before embarking on any building project in the state. Speaking in his office in Awka, Managing Director of the agency Mr. Celestine Anere, maintained that the need for such assessments was necessary inorder to ensure that property owners conform to the laws of Anambra State in executing their building projects.

* The leaders of the youth organizations in Anambra State paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Chukwuma Soludot the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. The visit from executives of Ohanaeze youths, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) youths stated that they will not undertake any protests whatsoever in the state. During the visit, they stressed that they cannot join the nationwide protests because Anambra State under the watch of Governor Soludo is peaceful and progressing steadily such that they would not partake of any disturbances that may lead to riots and the destruction of the great infrastructural developments put in place by the government.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Goverment Area, Comrade ThankGod Anago has called on the members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the state to intensify rural mobilization and sensitization across the state. Comrade Anago gave this charge when he received in audience, the Anambra State Youth Leader of APGA, Mr . Tochukwu Obiadi at the Local Government Secretariat, Achalla who was on familiarisation visit.

* Anambra State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has organized “Accountability Conference” in Awka, the state capital. The event held at Godwin Ezemo International Press Centre attracted the presence of government officials and public servants, and featured recognition of NUJ patrons and veterans, as well as award presentation to deserving individuals.

* The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam extends his commendation to Ndi Anambra, particularly the youth, for their exemplary conduct in promoting national peace. The Commissioner reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment to enhancing public security and safety.

In this regard, the Police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have re-strategized their security patrols and surveillance operations across the State. These measures are aimed at preventing crime and ensuring that law-abiding citizens can carry out their lawful activities without harassment.

* It was a moment of joy and encomium in Ebenator, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State as the people of the community rained praises on the State Governor Chukwuma Soludo; the Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. Van George Ezeogidi and the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), following the flag-off of multiple projects at once in the community by the TC Chairman. Graced by top government functionaries and many dignitaries from the community and beyond, the event held at the Orienwankwo Market, Ebenator, where the TC Chairman officially flagged off the construction of thirty (30) units of open stalls (Ọdụ Ahịa), as well as the reconstruction of four (4) non-functional boreholes and converting them from electric submersible pumps to solar-powered extraction systems.

* The immediate past member that represented Anambra East Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Pharmacist Obinna Emeneka has called for unity of purpose that will entrench peace and progress among members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the state. Speaking when the Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, Chief Ifeanyi Chinweze, the councilors and other top APGA stakeholders in the area paid him a courtesy call in his Nando country home, the former Anambra State Lawmaker, reiterated the need for unity, peace, and stability amongst all the stakeholders in the Local Government, and appealed to them to set aside their differences and work together for the progress and development of the Local Government Area and the State at large in order to re-elect Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term, and commended the Transition Committee Chairman of the Local Government Area, Chief Chinweze for doing a wonderful job.
