* Anambra State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Forster Ifejiofor said leadership accountability should not be focused on government alone as everyone is a leader in diverse capacities. Ifejiofor while speaking at the 2024 Accountability Conference organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council maintained that
“Everyone is a leader in one way or the order as we all have something to contribute where we are.

* Anambra House of Assembly, Committee on Works and Infrastructure says the ongoing construction of Solution Innovation District, Awka, beside the Government House, being handled by the state government is in conformity to standard. The Solution Innovation District is envisioned as a training center where youths can acquire life-transforming skills and become adept in technology. The Chairman House Committee on Works and Infrastructure Hon. Emma Nwafor gave the remarks when members of the Committee inspected the site as part of their oversight function.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze says Governor Chukwuma Soludo has contributed immensely towards the irradiation of hunger in the State through lofty agricultural reform strategies. Udeze while Speaking on the Launching Of Operation Farm To Feed Campaign by Soludo held at the Amansea/Ndiukwuenu, enjoined ndi Anambra to take the Governor’s efforts in promoting agriculture seriously to improve food production and also enhance their economic profile. The Speaker who described Governor Soludo as an apostle of former premier of the defunct Eastern Region, late Dr. Michael Okpara, noted that during Dr. Okpara’s regime, agriculture was the major economic base of Ndigbo and Nigeria at large and expressed satisfaction that Governor Soludo is replicating the gains of the era in the State.

* Towards enhancing the capacity of Anambra youths in Agricultural production and entrepreneurship ”Youths Earnestly Support Soludo YESS, will on Sunday hold the second edition of it’s youth empowerment symposium. The event will feature youth round table discussions, mentorship session, networking among other activities. The Convener of YESS, Dr Nelson Omenugha, while addressing the media hinted that the symposium will serve as a platform for valuable ideas sharing and knowledge enhancement for more impactful and purposeful living.

* The Commander, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Daniel Ogbonna Onyishi, has urged the public to release information to them so as to completely exterminate substance and drugs abuse in the State. Onyishi while speaking in Awka added that the agency had taken the war against drugs to communities through introduction of Community drugs control committees, which he believed would help to easily identify drugs and substance addicts for rehabilitations or prosecution.

* Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) holds data validation exercise for Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of Basic Healthcare Provison Fund (BHCPF). Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, the Managing Director of ASHIA, while speaking urged the OICs to be consistent in their efforts to improve the conditions of their healthcare centers so as to encourage BHCPF patients to seek treatment from the facilities. At the meeting, Onyemaechi admonished them against handling secondary diseases or illnesses that require the expertise of specialists and secondary healthcare providers. He instructed them to always refer the patients to the nearest ASHIA accredited hospital whenever such cases arise.

* The Fellow, Nigeria Guild of Editors and former MD/CEO, Anambra State Printing Press, the publisher of defunct National Light Newspaper, Sir. Chuka Nnabuife, has thanked the Nigeria Union of Journalists Anambra Council led by Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu for chosen to honour the veterans in the profession, which according to him, showed that they love and value life, humans and professionalism.

* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, leads guest in the second edition of Anambra’s August Meeting on Radio. August Meeting on Radio is an annual radio appearance that the governor’s wife has initiated to discuss critical social, health, and economic issues affecting households and how these issues can be effectively tackled. The call-in programme which was first held in August, 2023, has also become a strategic platform to usher in the annual August Meeting, providing important templates for conversations for thousands of women who would be attending the important annual gathering.
