* A fifty-six-year-old man, Mr. Ọkpara, has been arrested for allegedly defiling his eleven years old daughter. Mr. Ọkpara, who is a native of Adazi-Enu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra state, but resides at Fegge, Onitsha, was reported by a good Nigerian, who noticed that the young girl was limping.

* The Director Sandwich Unit of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka campus Associate Prof. Constance Okoli has applauded governor Chukwuma Soludo for demonstrating his education friendliness in action. Prof.Okoli in a press statement in Awka expressed delight that the governor has broken the jinx through the massive recruitment of teachers in both the primary and secondary schools in the state.

* Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Anambra council has honored
Reverend Chimdiebele Enukaora-Nwobi with a humanitarian service award. Enukaora-Nwobi who is a priest, officer by vocation and a traditional title holder in an exclusive interview with ANN after the event held at the Godwin Ezemo International Press Center Awka, Anambra state expressed his appreciate for the recognition.

* Anambra state house of assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the commissioner for works to ensure the continuation and speedy completion of the ongoing road construction work at igwe Onyekonwu road and Benbella Umuchima Amorka Uli road in Ihiala local government area so as to open up the areas for enhanced business activities and revenue generation. Chief Whip Hon. Ngobili Jude while making his presentation stated that the state government is poised to make Anambra State one of the most habitable states in Nigeria via the construction of good road networks in the state of which without bias, we all can testify to this.

* A community leader from Umuawulu Chief Chike Oranye has applauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making good his promise to fix dilapidated roads in Anambra state. Chief Oranye a prominent practising lawyer in Anambra state, made the commendation in a press statement in Amawbia. According to him, the governor needs to direct his attention in Umuawulu where roads are begging for attention but for one of its illustrious sons chief Christopher Ndubuisi who has tarred some kilometres of roads.

* Anambra State Government has approved the constitution of an interim town union government to run the affairs of Isseke Progressive Union, IPU, for the next three months. ANN gathered that the interim government was as a result of the tenure expiration of Chief Gilbert Okonkwo led executive, prevailing security situation at Ihiala Local Government Area and the need to avoid vacuum in the leadership of the town union government.

* Twenty five youths from Aguata communities in Anambra State have received digital skills as well as one brand new laptops each by member representing Aguata Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Engr Dom Okafor. The two-day training for the youths drawn from the 20 wards in the Constituency and centered on Computer Programming and Data Processing was organized by the lawmaker in collaboration with Industrial Arbitration Panel, Abuja.

* A fresh corpse of a yet-to-be-identified young man was dumped at the back gate of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka, the capital city of Anambra State. An eyewitness who said she parked her car at about 12.pm to visit a sick relative at the hospital, said the tricycle and the corpse were not there when she earlier parked, and opined that the killers must have dumped the corpse few hours ago.

* The Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has said addicts of crystal narcotich Methamphetamine, otherwise called by the street name mkpurummiri, were not properly breastfed. Soludo stated this during a two-day zonal media dialogue on 2023 World Breastfeeding Week: Zero-Water.

* As the 2023 August meeting commence across communities in Anambra, the State Government, has appeal to women to be cautious about communicable diseases. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Ben Obidike, made the appealed during the first Anambra Women Health Conference held at Prof. Dora Akuyili Women Development Centre Awka. It was gathered that the women conference sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), was designed to train the women so that in return they can take the messages of the day down to their respective meeting venues.

* The monthly cost of cleaning Governor’s Lodge has been cut down to N11m by Governor Chukwuma Soludo against N137m used by previous administration for the same purpose.
Similarly, the wife of the governor was not assigned any o official vehicles by the state government as was the case in the past. These were disclosed by the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Odogwu Emeka Odogwu,PhD after the officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC), Anambra State Chapter visited the governor.
