* Beneficiaries of the six months internship placement at the Solution Innovation District have lauded the Soludo administration for matching words with actions in sustainable youth empowerment and job creation. The internship placement is as a result of excellent performance at the LevelUp Anambra Digital Skills Training programme which the beneficiaries participated in.

* Over 100 Secondary School students from ten schools in Anambra State have gathered in Awka the state capital to brainstorm on how to respect trees and the Environment. The convener of the Boot Camp and Director The Green Environment and Climate Change Initiative, Mmachukwu Obimdike said these will help them understand that the world is moving towards renewable Green energy which if they don’t understand it at their secondary School period, they may never get to contribute towards achieving the universal goal.

* Mrs Nonye Soludo has called for the enactment of a law that prohibits parents from giving out underaged children as house servants. The governor’s wife made this call in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, during the 2023 Isuofia Women’s Convention.

* The Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. Emeka Orji, has promised to build fire station at the Bridgehead market as a way to checkmate fire incidence in the market. Orji said the building of fire station in the market with complete fire equipment would be his priority to checkmate fire incidence at the flourishing market.

* The President National Council for Women Societies in Anambra State, Lady Theresa Nnalue has charged Women to use their August Meeting in mapping out far-reaching policies that will reposition their various families.
Speaking in an interview on the importance of the August Home and Abroad Meeting, Lady Theresa cautioned the Women against deviating on the primary aim of conceptualizing the August meeting.

* The Department of Forensic Science, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University has held her first International Conference on Forensic Science and Criminal Justice. The two-day conference holding at the ASUU NAU Secretariat has its theme as “Challenges and Prospects of Forensic Science in a Democratic Nigeria.” In his address, UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, FAS, acknowledged that there is strong need of forensic experts in all sectors especially in the military and paramilitary.

* Hearing has commenced on the case between the State Commissioner of Police and Chief Chijioke Okaa and Olufemi Salako at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Nnobi, Idemmli South Council Area . Chijioke Okaa and Olufemi Salako are facing a five count charge bordering on attempting to commit felony, conspiracy to commit misdemeanor and wilful and unlawful damage of a building among others

* A group, known as the Save and Secure the Child Initiative, the Campaign against Child Abuse in Nigeria has rescued a six-year-old child, Chiagozie Nwobodo, from the hands of her father who confessed of flogging her with a matchet and inflicting her with heavy wounds as a result of the matchet cuts, leading to multiple sores all over the girl’s body, in addition to a broken leg.

* The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeder Association, has call on the President to ensure that its member is among the appointees in the Presidency, even as office sweepers. The association says the call was necessary considering their prayers and 85 percent votes that lead to his (Tinubu)’s victory in the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election. The called was made by the Southeast zonal leader of MACBAN, Allahaji Gidado Siddikki, while speaking to Journalists in Awka

* Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State Chapter have been charged to continue to say the truth as it is regardless of how the system is. The Chairman of ASUU, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Comrade Prof.

Kingsley Ubaoji gave the charge while speaking at the NUJ, Anambra State Chapter 2023 Awards ceremony held at the NUJ Secretariat , Awka.

* An Administrative building for Surveyors Council Of Nigeria, SURCON has been commissioned for immediate services in Awka, Anambra State. The building which Will serve as regional office for South East, South South and South West is SURCON’s identity. Opening the regional office, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo said that Anambra State is the only state in the southern region that provided land for the building of the office

* The MD/CEO of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi has urged Anambra women to disseminate information about ASHIA during this year’s August meetings. Dr. Onyemaechi who was one of the speakers at the State first August Women Health Conference, an event hosted by the World Health Organization and Anambra Governor’s wife Mrs Nonye Soludo in Awka said the access to health insurance has made health services easier.
