* The Idemili South local government Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Kizito Anoliefo has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Igwe, Mac-Anthony Chinedu Elibe Okonkwo, Ezediohamma 3rd of Alor and the entire people of Alor over the celebration of new yam festival. Chief Anoliefo in his congratulatory message described the festival as a crucial way of marking the beginning and end of the farming season.
He said, new yam festival is celebrated by Igbo people all over the world, it marks the beginning and end of a farming season and a new year in Igbo nation.
* Transition Committee Chairman of Njikoka Local Goverment Area, Bar. Chinedu Ononiba has described journalists as opinion molders whose impact can not be under estimated in the society. The TC Chairman while speaking at Angel Network News (ANN) head office at Udoka Housing Estate Awka, commended Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu for his leadership qualities. Ononiba also praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his giant strides and stating that in two years, the current administration has performed beyond expectations in two years.
* Chief Ignatius Aguowo in partnership with I.G.Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation has completely renovated a N12.7million worth of Principal’s House and Corpers Lodge at Ezeike High School Nibo and handed it over to Anambra State government. The commissioning of the project which was conducted by the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh took place at the premises of Ezeike High School, Nibo, Awka South local government area. The multimillion naira project comprises of redesigning of interiors of the building resulting to four bedroom and three bedroom apartments, introduction of more modern facilities, renovation of four Boys quarters, installation of overhead tank with water system, re-roofing of the building, re-plumbing of the entire building among others.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South local government area, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike has kicked-off the beautification of Nkwo Umunze Triangle. This was coming after series of back and front from the previous administrations. The project is expected to house a modern park for Keke Drivers and Cyclists in the town upon completion, and will include public toilet facilities, and bore hole.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka attended the Annual Conference of Abatete Development Organisation (ADO) Women’s Wing with a call on them to continue to organise and coordinate the home front as well as society at large, appreciating them for organisational skills and multi-tasking abilities. Nkwoka while addressing the women pledged to support them materially, financially and otherwise.
* A Foundation, Ide Global Movement (IGM), has offset the medical bills of about 17 patients admitted at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital COOUTH Amaku-Awka, Anambra State. The foundation visited the Mother/Child Referral Centre, special care baby’s unit, male and female surgical wards respectively and a sum of 3.5 million naira was paid for the purpose. Speaking during the visit on Saturday, the founder of the foundation, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor said the reason for visiting the state government-owned hospital was to help vulnerable people all around the world, particularly, unemployed youths, orphans, nursing mothers, children, widows as well as the sick ones.
* A 21-man caretaker committee for Iron Dealers Union, Uga Junction, Atani road in Ogbaru Council Area has been inaugurated. The committee was inaugurated by the Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Stakeholders Forum in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Pastor Onochie Obiora.
Addressing the members of the union, the Chairman of APGA Stakeholders Forum in the Local Government Area, Pastor Onochie said the aim of the inauguration was to set up a structure at various markets in the council area that will assist APGA in the next governorship election in the state, commending Chief Ejezie for always supporting APGA.
* As the Archbishop of the Niger province and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim marks his 62nd birthday, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described him as God’s anointed servant whose divine service in God’s Vineyard has transformed the lives of people to the glory of God. Felicitating Archbishop Ibezim on behalf of the State Legislature on his birthday, Rt. Hon. Udeze maintained that the Prelate has distinguished himself in the service of God and humanity through his sound evangelical disposition. The Speaker who noted with joy the testimonies of liberation and breakthrough coming from the Archbishop’s monthly Prayer Drive entitled”El Shaddai”as being confessed by the congregation of Awka Diocese, revealed that Archbishop Ibezim is truly a priest and prophet.
* The traditional ruler of Alor Kingdom in Idemili South Local Government Area, Igwe MacAnthony Okonkwo has celebrated his 10th year on the throne and the 2024 new yam festival of the community. The event was kicked off with an inter-denominational church thanksgiving service where the traditional ruler praised God for giving him success on the royal throne of the community and for giving the community a bountiful harvest.
* The Chairman of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu Ph.d, has assured newly inaugurated Executives of Angel Network News (ANN) Chapel that he will support them in achieving their aims and objective. Comrade Odogwu, while speaking before the inauguration held at the office of ANN Chapel in Udoka Estate Awka on Monday, August 5th, 2024, urged its members to spread the light by distinguishing themselves. Odogwu stated that ANN Chapel is made up of former members of Orient Dailys, which has gone moribund alongside other practicing journalists who have decided to come together and form a formidable force.
