* The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has extended his warmest congratulations to Chief Willie Obiano, (Akpoduedike Aguleri), former Governor of Anambra State, on the occasion of his 68th birthday anniversary. Soludo also extolled Chief Obiano’s resolute commitment to democracy and good governance.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has calls on Governor Chukwuma Soludo, to as a matter urgency, direct the Managing Director of Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to commence palliative work on the dilapidated portion of Akuzor road Nkpor, Afor Nkpor-Eke Nkpor road and Ugwu Nwasike-Abatete Road in Idemili North LGA to alleviate the suffering of road users. The member representing Idemili North constituency Hon. Kingsley Azubuike Udemezue while leading the motion at plenary on Tuesday, stated that section 14(2) B of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, affirmed that the protection of lives and properties remains the primary purpose of government.

* The State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has restated the determination of his administration to sustaining human capital development in the state. Soludo stated this during the Post Inaugural thanksgiving mass and reception of Honourable Engineer Dominic Okafor, member representing Aguata Federal Constituency held at St. Patrick’s Catholic church Obiuno lgbo-Ukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.

* The Anambra State Director of National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Joachin Ulasi, has urged Nigerian workers including media practitioners (Journalists), to key into benefits of cooperative society while in service to boost their retirement comfort. Dr. Ulasi who made the call in Awka, noted that the importance of cooperative cannot be measurable.

* The president of the the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has appointed Anambra Football Association (FA) Chairman General. Chikelue Iloenyosi into Players Status Committee. In a memo from the Communication Department of the NFF, Iloenyosi will serve in the committee in charge of players invitation and review.

* The Anambra State House of Assembly has call on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Commissioner for Works to ensures easy completion of the abandoned Onuselogu – Amichi – Azigbo Road. The member representing Nnewi South one constituency Hon. Nonso Atuchkwu who is the chief sponsor of the motion while speaking at plenary on Tuesday said the construction of the 4.5KM Onuselogu-Amichi-Azigbo road was awarded by the immediate past administration with the aim of serving as a Major bypass connecting the communities of Azigbo, Amichi & Awka-Etiti and its commencement took off sometime in March 2019.

* A former Student Union Government (SUG) Vice President of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Queen Chikwendu, has been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen. According to the source, the victim was abducted alongside other passengers, including a student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, while the driver and one other passenger managed to escape.

* The National Coordinator, Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD), Mrs Aisha Edward-Maduagwu has described the community of persons living with sickle cell disorder as the most neglected group in the society, particularly in Anambra State. According to Maduagwu her group is the most discriminated among all groups living with ailments and other challenges in the state and Nigeria at large.

* Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has warmly congratulated Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige, CON, (Onwa), on the occasion of his 71st birthday anniversary. Dr Chris Ngige was the former Governor of Anambra State from May 29, 2003 to March 17, 2006 and was the immediate past Minister of Labour and Productivity and a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

* Jubilations at the Anambra State  Executive meeting  as acting  chairman Anambra  State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) Dr Greg Ezeilo  announced N2.8billions Internally Generated Revenue  (IGR) for month of July 2023. This is the first time the state’s IGR got to   N2.8 billions since governor Charles Soludo assumed office as the state the  governor in March  2022 and two months Ezeilo took over as the acting chairman.

* In his Pastoral Visit to St Augustine’s Parish, Ichida the Chief Shepherd of Awka Diocese, His Lordship,Most Rev Paulinus C.Ezeokafor, enjoined the parishioners to assiduously seek the gift of wisdom which comes from the Holy Spirit. The visit is in tandem with his duties as a diocesan bishop, having the canonical obligation to schedule pastoral visit to churches under his jurisdiction, at least once in every four to six years.
