* Police Operatives in Igbo-Ukwu Divisional Police Headquaters, recovered one white Peugeot J5 Boxer bus with Reg No: AKL 896 XB, a vandalised Lister electricity generator, a roller, pipes, an Iron bar, One big Plier, Screwdriver, a big metal Cutter and a pair of black canvas from some fugitives/economic saboteurs.

The hoodlums were vandalizing the Lister Model Electricity Generator attached to the MTN Mast located opposite Saint Martin’s Catholic Church Umudege, Igboukwu and on sighting the Police team, took to their heels and fled the scene.

While efforts have been activated to arrest the fleeing criminals, the Anambra State Police Command calls on anyone especially residents of the area to assist the Police with useful information in this regard, please.

* The Orumba South local government Mayor, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike has commended Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR for completion of 7.8km Achina-Onneh-Agbudu-Ogboji roads.

The Orumba South Mayor said, Governor Soludo is turning Anambra into construction site, stating that Governor Soludo has awarded over 500km of roads and many have been completed.

While stating that the roads will ease the sufferings of the people and such people oriented projects and initiatives going on in the state should be commended and supported by Ndi Anambra, he added that the over 500km of roads would bring more dividends of democracy closer to the people, which is one of the vision of Mr. Governor.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has fulfilled his pledge to the people of Anambra West LGA with the completion of the 11.9-kilometer Mmiata-Anam-Nzam road.

The newly constructed road now provides seamless access to the local government headquarters, fostering improved connectivity, trade, and economic activities in the region.

During an inspection of the project, Governor Soludo reminded residents of his earlier commitment.

* Police Operatives attached to Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State,
acting on credible information, raided an identified black spot in Umunaga Village, Awka South LGA.

During the operation, one Okechukwu Chinwuko aged 27 years of Umunaga Village and Ezenwa Chinedu 22 years of Umuneri Village were arrested.

According to a press release by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, other incriminating objects recovered include one Pump action gun, four live cartridges, Cutlass, Criminal Charms, and substances suspected to be hard drugs.

The Operatives also rescued two female victims who the suspects have forcibly abused sexually.

The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation on their modus operandi and further details shall be communicated in due course.

* The Director of Agulu Peoples Union
Vocational Academy, Dr. Duezeh Emmanuel has commended Senator Victor Umeh, for sponsoring the bill for the establishment of Federal College of Skill Acquisition and Technology, Agulu.

In a statement, Dr. Emmanuel Jr. expressed his profound gratitude to Senator Umeh and the 10th Senate for the bill.

He described the development as a pivotal moment in the advancement of technical education and skill acquisition in Agulu, Anambra State, and Nigeria at large.

* Anambra State Government plans to set up a Bentonite Processing Factory in Achalla-Agu Nteje, Oyi Council Area.

This is aimed at actualizing the vision of the Soludo-led administration to empower citizen’s through industrialisation, and by utilizing local natural resources for wealth creation. The location will enable the factory take advantage of huge deposits of Bentonites in the area.

To this end, the Managing Director/CEO of Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company Limited (ANSSMDCL), Prof.Charles Ofoegbu, together with the officials of the agency, accompanied by representatives of the village heads, led by the President-General, have embarked on an inspection visit to the piece of land donated by the community for citing of the Bentonite Processing Plant.

* The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ikechebelu has assured the University Community that the menace of admission racketeering will not raise its ugly head under his watch.

Prof. Ikechebelu made the promise during a meeting with the Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and Directors of Units at the University auditorium.

Prof. Ikechebelu stated that one of the challenges which trumped up by what transpired in the University following the dissolved Governing Council’s style of Vice-Chancellor Selection was admission racketeering and insecurity.

* Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra has assured residents and visitors to Anambra of adequate security, before during and after Christmas/New Year celebrations in the state.

Soludo, gave the assurance through his Senior Special Adviser on Security and Homeland Affairs, Hon Chike Samuel Ezenduka, on Wednesday at Onitsha the commercial city of the State while
speaking to Journalists shortly after he (Ezenduka), received the Smart Security/AVG Gallant Personel award for the year, 2024 from Pechilly Investigative Limited, Nigeria.

Ezenduka said the state government has put in place security architecture to ensure free-crime environment for residents and visitors to celebrate this year yuletide.

* The National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has described Sly Ezeokenwa’s affirmation as the National Chairman of APGA and Edozie Njoku’s dismissal of his claims as a fulfilment of his earlier prediction that Njoku’s “dirty games” would be nipped in the bud.

Expressing delight that his prediction had come to fruition, Obigwe commended the Justices of the Supreme Court for using their latest decision on the APGA leadership tussle to expose and put an end to Njoku’s antics.

Obigwe added that those accusing Governor Soludo of planning to destroy APGA and defect to the APC have been proven wrong by the latest Supreme Court judgement. Similarly, he said those who alleged President Tinubu was behind Njoku’s schemes have now seen there was no basis for such claims.

* The Anambra Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, Mr Don Onyenji, has urged hoteliers in the state to stay current with their tax payments as required by law, emphasizing that any hotel operating without a proper operational license is doing so illegally.

Additionally, he encouraged hotel owners to ensure their establishments meet international standards to attract patronage, especially with the construction of the Solution Fun City that will attract tourists to the state.

The Commissioner made this statement during his meeting with the executive members of the Anambra State Hotel Owners Association at the UHBET Center in Awka.
