* A Man Identified as Somadina Orji from Igbariam in Anambra State has reportedly killed his mother, Mrs Charity Orji, and his Sister, Miss Ukamaka Orji, and buried them in a shallow grave at their backyard in Enugu State. The Incident happened recently at Umuagu Inyi, in Oji River Local Government area of Enugu State.

* Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission says its Officers and Men are fully on ground to ensure easy flow of traffic across the State especially during this yuletide and beyond. Its sector Commander Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi who disclosed this in Awka said that already the commission is collaborating with other security agencies and Traffic management body to ensure that all gridlocks and obstruction are removed for enhanced human and vehicular movements across Anambra State. Mr Irelewuyi, who blamed most road crashes on human factors, charged motorists to always obey traffic rules and regulations in order to minimize the rate of accidents on the highway.

* Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra Chapter says it is impressed with the progress in the sports sector of the state especially the grassroots level. ANN reports that Comrade Chimezie Anaso, chairman of SWAN Anambea Chapter stated this during the 2023 SWAN Week Lecture/Award Night of the association in Awka. According to Anaso, SWAN Week was an annual event which marked the end of activities of the association and also provided stakeholders the opportunity to evaluate activities in the sector during the outgoing year and set the agenda for the coming year.

* At the 3rd edition of the “Spokesperson Communication Awards and Conference” organized at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday, 7th December, 2023, the Press Secretary to the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, emerged the overall Spokesperson of the year in a tightly contested category. The Edo-born Imagemaker of the Anambra State Governor bagged this award ahead of other top players in the PR sector including the Public Relations Officer at the office of the Head of the Federal civil service who trailed behind in the second position.

* The Anambra State Football Association (FA) Chairman General Chikelue Iloenyosi has condemned in strongest words the ugly situation that happened to Sunshine Stars contingent on their way to honor a league game against Bendel Insurance of Benin. ANN gathered that the players and management were brutally attacked and valuable stolen whill the ball boy of the team was shot and has since been recuperating in an undisclosed hospital. In a similar development, The contingent of Football Club (FC) One Rocket of Uyo were recently robbed at the Ihiala axis on their way to Uyo after honoring a league game last Sunday against Ikorodu City of Lagos.

* Federal Road Safty Commission (FRSC) says from the month of January to 30th November, 2023, a total of 97 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) has occurred in Anambra state. Anambra Sector Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi in his speech at the end of year media parley and award ceremoney for journslist in Anambra on Saturday, revealed that 820 persons were involved, 25 of the RTCs were fatal, claiming the lives of 35 persons and 270 persons injured

* Anambra Billionaire and philanthropist , High Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti, has gifted 10 underprivileged families, mostly widows with brand-new homes in his community Umuchu in Anambra State. Apart from the building, Chief Otti equally furnished the house for the indigents and provided them cash gift of 600,000 thousand naira each as support for their various businesses.

* The Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh says dismissal awaits any school principal who sabotages Anambra State Government’s Free Education policy. Announcing the suspension of the Principal of Metu Memorial Secondary School Onitsha, Dr. Fidelia Ogili, Chuma-Udeh stated that the principal was asked to step down for going against the Free Education pronouncements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
