* The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, PCN, says it is ready to support the Anambra State government and major stakeholders in the drug distribution value chain to see to the realization of the Coordinated Wholesale Centre, CWC, project sited in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the council, Pharmacist Ibrahim Ahmed stated this in a press briefing in Awka shortly after a close door meeting with stakeholders in the drug manufacturing and distribution value chain in Anambra State.
* Comrade Ndubuisi Igwekanyi, a loyalist and adherent of the late Ikemba Nnewi Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu has declared that it is time to tell Ndi-Anambra and the entire world the truth about the origin of the group called Ikemba Front. Igwekanyi said in clear-cut terms that those now parading themselves as members of Ikemba Front, knew nothing about the movement because Ikemba Front, according to him, was the brainchild of the late Biafran warlord , Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, whom he said originated Ikemba Front as a veritable platform for Ikemba warriors.
* Anambra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu has concluded the 2023 jail delivery exercise. Three persons in detention at the Awka Custodial Center were set free by Anyachebelu. ANN reports that the beneficiaries of the jail delivery exercise include Chukwuemeka Ochife, whose defense lawyer told the court has been in detention for over a year; without any charge pending against him, 28 – year old Richard Ufuo, who has spent over five years over rape allegation, 19-year old Uchenna Okafor, who has spent four years and seven months in detention, and whose defense lawyer said there is no charge filed against him since 2019 he was remanded.
* A blind Pastor and the founder of Soul Desire Healing Ministry in Uga town, Anambra State, Pastor Christian Onyiuke, has declared that God has bestowed on him, the power to revive any traumatized kidnapped patients. He said the power was given to him by God this year, precisely February, 2023 to save souls. Pastor Onyiuke revealed this while delivering his sermon to mark the Ministry’s 1st Anniversary Thanksgiving Service.

* The second anniversary of Chinua Achebe International Passenger and Cargo Airport, Umueri was celebrated with a special dimension.
A statement by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information Sir. Paul Nwosu states that ever since Governor Chukwuma Soludo renamed the erstwhile Anambra Airport at Umueri to Chinua Achebe International Passenger and Cargo Airport during the 63rd Nigerian Independence Anniversary, the fledgling airport has soared into the stratosphere. It notes that a name truly matters as Chinua Achebe, who Governor Soludo described as an African and global hero has bequeathed the ultra-modern airport a commanding name to fly high with.
* Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing has extolled the outstanding legacies of the late former Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who passed on to eternal glory on Thursday, 14th of December, 2023.
According to a statement from the family signed by Chief Rob Ezeife, the late Dr Ezeife died at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, at the age of 85, after an undisclosed sickness. In a condolence message signed by the acting National Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing, Maazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, Igbo youths mourn the octagenarian, describing him as a renowned leader of repute.
* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has assured that the current administration is keen on consolidating current milestones recorded in the state’s health sector. Mrs Soludo stated this in her address at the 2023 annual surveillance and routine immunization programme performance review and award meeting organized by the Anambra State Ministry of Health in collaboration with World Health Organization, WHO in Awka.
