* Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo joined the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze and family in thanksgiving to God for his benevolence.
The event was held at Cathederal Church of St James The Great, Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

Governor Soludo said that the Anambra community came together to commemorate a significant occasion marked by joy and remembrance.

The Governor added that the gathering emphasizes the themes of grace and gratitude, calling on the congregation to reflect on the blessings in their lives, rejoicing together, celebrating God’s grace and the gift of life.

* A coalition of Civil Society Networks on AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (ATM Network) has expressed concerns over the rising cost of drugs for treatment of malaria and other sundry ailments in Anambra State.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the State Advocacy Team (SAT) of the group raised the alarm during their recent advocacy visit to the Program Manager of the National Malaria Eradication Program (NMEP) – Mr Nonso Ndibe.

The State Program Officer (SPO), Onyekachi Ololo, who expressed the concerns during his presentation, noted that while HIV/AIDs, Tuberculosis drugs are available for free at the primary healthcare facilities in the state, malaria drugs are increasingly expensive.

* The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Rt Rev. Prosper Amah, has described Christmas as the fulfillment of God’s promise to mankind.

In his Christmas message, Bishop Amah emphasized that through the birth of Jesus Christ, God fulfilled His promise of sending a Savior who would bring salvation to humanity. He also urged politicians and leaders to always fulfill their campaign promises to the people.

According to Amah, beyond the festivities of Christmas, affluent individuals should remember the less privileged in their midst by offering a helping hand to give them a sense of belonging.

* Anambra State Government has issued a strong warning against the idea and practice of government organs, departments and agencies or its affiliates presenting merit, honour, or recognition awards to officers within this same government.

In a release signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, a directive and advise by Soludo stated that;

“As an ethical leader who abhors undue self-promotion, Mr. Governor particularly frowns on any attempt at self-recognition awards in this administration. While recognising and appreciating the hard work, excellence, and dedication of government employees is crucial, such accolades should ideally originate from external, independent organisations.

* The member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Hon. Afam Ogene has facilitated the training of fifteen women on Renewable Energy from the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC).

The training which was executed by Frontline Infosys Limited, focused on clean cooking, followed an earlier training programme on solar energy for over 100
youths in Ogbaru, which was also facilitated by the lawmaker, who is the Chairman, Committee on Renewable Energy in the House of Representatives.

Hon. Ogene while speaking at the training at Ruchem Beach Hotels, Iyiowa-Odekpe,
said he would continue to use his position to add value to the lives of the people through human capital and infrastructure development.

* Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA) has officially handed over the administration of Awka South daily sweepers to Awka South Local Government Area.

Speaking during the handover meeting, the ASWAMA Board Chairman, Professor Emma Ezenwanji stated that the move was in line with the desire of Governor Soludo to ensure a clean, green and livable State Capital and also to encourage productivity and accountability on the part of the sweepers.

Ezenwanji further urged the sweepers to cooperate and support the Mayor to succeed on the new job and assured of continuous support from the board to enable Prince Okafor to achieve the overall goal of a clean state capital.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has assured that under his leadership the lawmakers will continue to contribute meaningfully to the development and well-being of the citizenry.

Rt. Hon. Udeze while speaking at the Cathedral Church of St.James the Great Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area during a Thanksgiving Service of grace and gratitude he organized to thank God for His boundless grace upon his life, restoration of his wife’s health and the honour of serving as Speaker of the State Legislature, commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo for keeping to his promise by revealing that the Atani-Ozubulu road will be commissioned in three months time.

The Speaker while expressing gratitude to the teeming guests specially his colleagues that attended the event, appealed to Governor Soludo to make him proud in his Ogbaru council area by constructing the Uga Junction- Atani-Osomalla- Ogwuikpele road, which he said successive governments could not do.

* Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has congratulated the Idemili South Female Team for winning the Healthy Living Female Volleyball Competition.

Mrs. Soludo while speaking at the event which took place at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, recently, expressed her gratitude to the Mayors who attended the event.

The Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo (HLWNS) founder, was impressed by the talent shown by the young athletes.

Mrs. Soludo highlighted that promoting exercise is a key goal of the HLWNS initiative, and also encouraged support for extracurricular activities like this volleyball competition, adding,

Soludo stated this at the Basilica of Saint James the Great Cathedral Atani during a thanksgiving service by the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze.

Soludo commended Udeze for being a Great All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) faithful, appreciating the hand of God in his life while urging all to always show appreciation and share love with all during the Yuletide.

The Governor maintained that apart from the Atani-Ozubulu road other important infrastructure are being put in place in Ogbaru Local Government Area and others across the state pointing out that all traditional medicine practitioners in Anambra State must be registered.

* The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into Law.

Soludo signed the bill into Law at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia on Monday.

Performing the function, Governor Soludo expressed optimism that the budget will catalyze change in the state in the coming year.

Recall that the budget size is N606,991,849,118 for the fiscal year 2025.

While recurrent expenditures account for N139.5 billion; capital expenditure is N467.5 billion.

The Capital expenditure constitutes 77% of the total budget size, while the recurrent expenditure accounts for 23%.
