# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has joyfully marked his thirty-third wedding anniversary at his country home in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area.

The occasion, commemorated with a solemn thanksgiving Mass officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulọbịa Diocese, His Eminence Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, provided a spiritual setting for prayers of gratitude, blessings, and continued prosperity for the Governor and his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.

The heartfelt ceremony brought together family members, friends, dignitaries, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the milestone of enduring love and commitment.

Governor Soludo expressed deep appreciation to all who joined in the celebration and reflected on the journey of their marriage, emphasizing the importance of patience, understanding, and shared values in sustaining a harmonious family life.

# Youths of Ezi-Umunya in Oyi LGA, have staged a peaceful protest, demanding the immediate intervention of the Anambra State Government in the leadership tussle in the village.

The protesters, led by the Secretary General of the Ezi-Umunya Youth, Mr. Chukwudi Nwankwo, were seen with placards bearing inscriptions such as “United Ezi-Umunya, we want peace and not war,” “Please, Mr. Commissioner, we are tired of hoodlums as executives,” and “Ezi-Umunya does not want crisis; we want everlasting peace,”.

They marched from the Ezi-Umunya Village Hall through the Umunya Town Hall, Oyi Local Government Area Headquarters, to the residence of the Umunya President General, where they peacefully registered their grievances.

Speaking through the Secretary General, Mr. Nwankwo, the youths said the protest was to call for immediate action by the state government on the leadership issue in Ezi-Umunya Village and to appeal to the government, through the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, to step aside Chief Gozie Nweke of Umudunu Kindred, Pharmacist Shedrack Obinna of the same Umudunu Kindred, Mr. Geoffrey Ejiofor of Umunagu Kindred, and others, who they said have been embroiled in a prolonged power tussle in the community

# Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have dominated strategic locations across the State, including major roads, markets, worship centres, motor parks, and recreational areas, to ensure the safety of residents and visitors as social activities heighten during this festive period.

In line with this, the eight Area Commanders across the State have stepped up supervisory duties to ensure proper coordination and effective deployment of personnel within their respective jurisdictions, including Onitsha, Ihiala, Oraifite, Awka, Aguata, Otuocha, Ogidi, and Nnewi. Tactical teams and joint security forces have also intensified security patrol operations across the State.

The Police Command encourages residents to go about their lawful activities without fear, reassuring the public of its continued commitment to maintaining peace, safety, and order throughout the celebrations.

# The Managing Director of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyaemachi has encouraged philanthropist to not only share food items to people but also organise medical outreach.

Speaking in Awka, the CEO of maintained that those who are in hospital do not know the value of the food items been distributed.

“Health is wealth and i commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making health insurance affordable in Anambra State.

” Our benefit package is twelve thousand naira (12,000). Governor Soludo has subsidized ASHIA by making it avoidable to ndi Anambra.

” However, there are prople who cannot pay our twelve thousand naira (12,000) premium and this is where philanthropists can assist. The MD said.

# Chinua Soludo, Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s son, in the spirit of the Christmas season, has paid an unscheduled visit to three hospitals in Anambra State on Christmas Day, during which he cleared the hospital bills of many.

This gesture of kindness by Chinua Soludo was warmly received by beneficiaries and their relatives, who offered prayers for divine blessings and God’s protection upon him.

The visits, which moved from Adazi-Nnukwu to Nnobi and Ekwulobia, created lasting memories of compassion, moving many beneficiaries, as well as Chinua Soludo, to tears.

# The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, has charged inmates of the Onitsha Correctional Centre, Anambra State, to endeavour to judiciously utilize the skills acquisition programmes provided for them within the facility.

The Prelate reminded the inmates that the purpose of establishing and equipping skills acquisition centres within the prison yard was to ensure that each inmate learns at least one skill while serving their sentence, so as to become useful to themselves and society upon their release.

Archbishop Okeke gave the charge during his customary pastoral visit to the Correctional Centre, where he celebrated Christmas with the inmates.

He also encouraged them to embrace education as a tool for sustaining their future after regaining freedom, urging them to take advantage of the schools he established within the prison yard to obtain educational certificates.

# The leadership and management of the Agụnechemba Security Squad have dismissed allegations that its operatives are being owed salaries, describing the claims as false and a calculated attempt to blackmail the organisation.

The management also refuted reports of a protest by operatives, insisting that no such action took place.

According to the outfit, any personnel who have not received salary alerts are affected by banking and documentation issues, particularly failure to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), even though their salaries have already been paid into their respective bank accounts.

# The Managing Director (MD) of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, (ASHIA) Dr. Simeon Onyaemachi has spoken on habits that are dangerous especially at Yuletide season.

Speaking in Awka, the CEO maintained that many people through their lifestyle, abuse the yuletide season which is mostly filled with activities and events.

Onyaemachi revealed that most diseases spring up because of excess unhealthy consumptions.
