# Two persons sustained gunshots following struggle between an armed robbery suspect and his victim while attempting to disarm him in Awka, Anambra state.
The suspect was said to have allegedly fired shots after demanding the victim’s phone and other valuables which he refused to part with.
Bullets from the gun reportedly hit the duo while the victim was struggling to disarm the suspect.
Confirming the incident, Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the suspect has been arrested, while the injured are responding to treatment in the hospital.
# The Traditional Ruler of Abatete Community in Idemili North LGA, Igwe Emeka Efobi has bestowed a Chieftaincy title of ‘Ichie Atu Abatete’ on a California based physician, Prince Dr Chinedu Chris Ikeanyi.
Ikeanyi, who is the Secretary General, Association of Nze na Ozo and Chiefs (ANOC) in Southern California, United States of America, is also an Ozo title holder and son of the late Igwe Davidson Okafor Ikeanyi of Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka LGA.
According to Igwe Efobi, the young physician was recognised due to his commitment towards promotion of African culture and values as well as empowerment of the less privileged within and outside Nigeria.
Igwe Efobi, while charging him to sustain the tempo, urged the younger generation especially those living overseas to always remember their roots wherever they find themselves.
Speaking at the occasion, the celebrant, Prince Dr Chinedu Chris Ikeanyi viewed the new title as a clarion call to do more in promotion of culture and charity works, which according to him, would help in rebuilding the Igbo nation.
Ikeanyi, while recalling his long tie relationship with Abatete people, further charged the Igbo living overseas to always remember their homes and be committed towards reengineering peace and progress of their neighbours.

The natives at village to village campaign rejected Mr. Chukwuebuka Onuorah who was seeking reelection, arguing that he lacked credibility and sincerity to lead the agrarian community for the next three years.
Enugwu-Agidi community has been in turmoil over leadership crisis for the past three years with accusations and counter accusations from all quarters, resulting in alleged impeachment of their incumbent President General of Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU-NIGERIA), Mr Chukwuebuka Onuorah.
Onuorah was removed in office recently following his attempt to reschedule their election to December 16, 2025 as against December 29th stipulated in the Constitution of EBU-NIGERIA but was later reinstated as the State government intervened and called for a truce, which included returning the date for the poll to 29th.
# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned a newly completed two
kilometer road in Abatete, a project realized through the innovative public-private-community partnership policy championed by his administration.
Highlighting the limited financial resources available to the government, Governor Soludo emphasized that the resources in the hands of government is not up to two percent marking the importance of collaborative efforts in infrastructure development, explaining that much of the funding for development resides with private individuals and community stakeholders who have to potential to show remarkable commitment to improving their local environment.
According to the Governor, Abatete has answered the call very resoundingly, praising residents and private partners for their sacrifice and dedication, pointing out that those who give in the communities, do so not just because they have excess, but because it pays to sacrifice.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing communities with the greatest road needs, stressing that strategic roads remain a key focus in ensuring connectivity and socio-economic growth across Anambra State.
# Obasi Daniel Onyeka has draw the
attention of the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, about the constant neglect and abuse from his uncle.
Narrating his experience, Obasi maintained that for decades, his has been victimized and discriminated by his uncles, Mr. Okwuchukwu Obasi and Mr Lotanna Obasi, from Umu-anumba kindred, in Ofufe Nza-Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State.
Reacting, National Coordinator of the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD) and Director, Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home Agulu, Mrs Aisha Edwards Maduagwu, condemned the act describing it as unacceptable.
Calling for justice, Maduagwu in a letter to the President General and The Stakeholders of Ozubulu Development Union, described.
# It was a day filled with joy and heartfelt celebration in Nkwelle Ezunaka at the residence of Chief Ozo Nwoye’s family house, Ifite, as the classmates of Fada Ebube Muonso gathered for their annual Christmas reunion.
In his reflection titled “You Are the Light of the World,” he emphasized the power of love, unity, and positive impact, values he has continued to demonstrate in Nkwelle Ezunaka.
One of the highlights of the day was the presence of his former school aunty in the then Ezunaka primary school Nkwelle Ezunaka, Mrs. Celina Chukwujekwu, whom Fr. Ebube gifted a car years ago and has lovingly placed on a monthly salary to date.
During the event, after a brief interactive session, Fr. Ebube Muonso presented each of his classmates with a cheque to support and strengthen their various businesses. More than ₦9m cheque was issued.
