* The alumni association of Basdem Memorial Special Education Centre, Isulo, in Orumba South Local Government Area has called on Anambra State Government, philanthropists and public-spirited individuals to help reposition the school and equip students with necessary material to enhance teaching and learning in the school. Speaking at a symposium held at Professor Kenneth Dike Central e-Library Awka, the National President of Basdem Memorial Special Education Centre Alumni Association, Barrister Onyinye Evughire, said though limited in some ways, the association has been doing its part in addressing challenges students at the centre face, but said that government attention is direly needed for more impact in repositioning the state owned special education center.
* Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Hon. Don Onyenji says the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo
wants to make Anambra state the tourism capital in Nigeria. Onyenji who appeared along-side members of his ministry during the 2024 budget defense presided by Anambra assembly committee on Finance and Appropration chaired by Hon. Ejike Okechukwu and committee on Culture, Entertainment and Tourism chaired by Hon. Nigeria Henry Mbachu, assured that the ministry will work according to the appropriation law.
* Hundreds of women under the aegis of Umuada Nsugbe in Anambra East LGA took to the streets to show solidarity with the families of two of their youths murdered by their neighbouring Umueri community. ANN reports that It is exactly two weeks (14 days) since the murder of the two youths happened and there has been no news of any arrests made, although the State Government through the Office of the Deputy Governor, Dr Ibezim, has begun engagements with the leadership of both communities, towards finding lasting peace. The women while protesting stated that they have identified the murderer of the two youths Chukwurah Nweze and Chigozie Anyansi, who were killed on the 22nd of November, in a violence that ensued between youths of both communities, which also resulted in gunshot injuries to five Umueri youths.
*The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Amaka Obi has urged Youths in the State to shun the culture of politics of bitterness and rancour. Obi made the plea at Ojoto Local Government Headqt, during the empowerment of over 300 women and youths and commissioning of many projects built by her administration.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has empowered over three hundred (300) second batch of skills acquisition beneficiaries with starter packs after the training in the council secretariat. Addressing the trainees during the graduation ceremony, Hon. Obi charged them to utilise the training to empower themselves economically and become employers of labour. The Idemili South mayor described the beneficiaries as torchbearers of her prosperity administration, stating that the training would be continuous.
* The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo says promoting local brands is a significant strategy for the economic growth of the state and the country. Soludo who stated this during his solidarity visit to Innoson Manufacturing Plant in Nnewi, said that such patronage boosts the local businesses and creates job opportunities.
ANN gathered that the Governor also visited the new expansion site of the Company sitting on a three hectare of land in Nnewi.
* The Anambra State government has sealed up shops in Awka and Okpuno over non-compliance with environmental laws. ANN reports that the task force of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, sealed up the shops during their patrol in the state capital and its environs. Speaking, the Managing Director of the Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere explained that the decision to seal the shops is due to indiscriminate dumping and burning of refuse, filthy environment, blocked and littered drainages.
* Honourable Nicholas Ukachukwu former lawmaker from Osumenyi, Anambra state is set to wed Mitchel Ihezue. Miss Ihezue was Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2017. ANN recalls that Hon. Ukachukwu had lost his wife in a road accident which claimed the lives of some of her friends too in 2020.
