* Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo joins thousands of APGA supporters to canvass votes from Ogbaru Constituency. Soludo also used the opportunity to flag off construction of Atani to Ozubulu road which is 11.37 kilometers with a bridge for the people. The road has a completion period of 18 months.
* Chieftain of the Labour Party who currently functions as Coordinator and Director-General Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organization in Anambra state, Chief Joemartins Uzodike, has said that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is dead, stressing that APGA gave up the ghost since Peter Obi left the party many years ago. Uzodike, who served under Peter Obi as Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, said Labour Party was prepared for the 2023 national elections especially in Anambra state, where it is currently carrying out grassroots sensitisation to ensure that candidates of the party swept the polls.
* Organization of Igbo Hebrew Culture Heritage International has called on government at different levels to invest more in Agriculture for food security and thereby minimize the suffering of the masses. The organization made the call through the International Co-ordinator, Rabbi Ikechukwu Ogugua during a courtesy visit on the Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu in his office at the Anambra Broadcasting Service Corporate Headquarters in Awka.
* In his bid to take Idemili North and South Federal Constituency to a greater height, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for House of Representatives election in Anambra State, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze) visited Building Material Ogidi and Electrical market in Obosi, all in Idemili North Local Government Area. Ike Cubana stated that Iyiegbu family were on human capital development corridor and had been assisting people, maintaining that he would extend it to all the households in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency.Â
* Anambra state Commissioner for Works Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work ongoing at Akpaka road, Federal Housing Estate Link Road and the Spur to 33 road, all in Onitsha North Local Government Area.
Speaking after inspecting the roads, Commissioner Okoma said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration has an agenda with a timeline, and so ‘has to work twenty-four hours daily to make things happen.’
* The Chief Whip of Anambra State House Of Assembly and Candidate for Dunukofia Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Ibida has appreciated Abba people for their unflinching support. The lawmaker urged the people of Abba not to forget his signature projects in Abba which included lock up shops, Pavilions in their popular market, appointments and other achievements. He swiftly and earnestly vowed to improve the lots of Abba Community if elected in the forthcoming election.Â
*The Honourable member representing Dunukofia, Njikoka, and Anaocha Federal Constituency, and APGA candidate for Senate, Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Dozie Ferdinand Nwankwo MFR has congratulated Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Ike Cubana), on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Hon. Nwankwo while congratulating Ike Cubana, described him as a young man with an outstanding character, dedication, and commitment. Onyendozi also acknowledged and commended Hon. * The Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Chief Magistrate Court, sitting in Awka, Anambra State, has sentenced a 35-year-old woman, Success James, to prison for offences of child labor, child exploitation, abduction of children and child stealing.
The convict was earlier apprehended at Onitsha and arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court in Awka, sometime in December, 2022, for abducting four teenage girls and subjecting them to child labour and sexual exploitation. The teenage girls were rescued by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo, in collaboration with police operatives in December, 2022.
* The founder of Anambra Media Excellence Awards AMEA, veteran filmmaker and culture advocate Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris Udoka popularly known as Ogene Ogbunike yesterday boasted that the federal house of representatives candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Lady Maureen Gwacham, would win 25th February election. Ogene Ogbunike, who is one of the critical stakeholders in APGA Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, spoke in an interview with journalists in Awka, Anambra State.
* There were wild jubilation in major cities of Anambra State following the Supreme Court judgement on the old naira notes. The Supreme Court temporarily halted the move by the federal government to ban the use of the old naira notes from February 10, 2023.
A seven-member panel led by Justice John Okoro, halted the move of the federal government in a ruling in an exparte application brought by three northern states of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara.
* Foundation of Movement for Good Governance (FMGG) a non-political organization claims that a recent Anambra North Senatorial opinion poll was manipulated.
ANN gathered that the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Princess Stella Oduah got 4,600 votes in the opinion polls to top the chart, a development that ignited protest based on the perception that she manipulated the exercise to favour her.
* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has flagged off construction of the 6.05 km Ozubulu-Ihembosi-Ukpor Road. Speaking at Ihembosi, Governor Soludo thanked the people of Ekwusigo for mobilizing votes for him.
