* The Honorable Member representing the good people of Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency, Hon. Gwacham Maureen has empowered Nine Oyi women with a hundred thousand naira (#100,000.00) startup business package at Awkuzu ward 4 where she commissioned a water project as one of her cardinal objectives of making clean water accessible to her constituents. Speaking at the commissioning of the water project, Hon. Gwacham admonished the nine beneficiaries of the empowerment initiative to judiciously utilize the opportunity as it will be a continuum depending on the success of the first phase which solely depends on them.

* The Anambra State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye has congratulated an Anambra son, Monsignor Thomas Ifeanyichukwu Obiatuegwu, on his appointment as the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu, Imo State, by His Holiness Pope Francis. Monsignor Ifeanyichukwu Obiatuegwu is from Uli in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State and will be formally installed as the auxilliary bishop on Wednesday, 20th March, 2024 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church, Orlu. Chief Obi-Okoye, in a congratulatory message, described him as a genuine lover of God and an asset to the Mother church, adding that Monsignor Obiatuegwu’s untiring and dedicated work in the Lord’s vineyard over the years, prepared him for this special day.

* The State Government has resolved a 14 years lingering issue between the defunct Anambra Water Corporation which dates back to 2009. The urgency of this matter stems from a judgment by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria on 3rd June, 2019 resulting in the garnishing of Anambra state government’s account. Efforts made by the union to have discussions before now failed. They resorted to the Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAP) which was between the Union and Anambra state government through the Federal Ministry of Labour. The Union won the IAP award. After that, nothing was paid to the workers and the union resolved to go to the National Industrial Court.

* A representative of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Engineer Samuel Ekwolo, has extolled the virtues of the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District Chief Victor Umeh. Ekwolo gave the testimonial to Umeh, when the Senator distributed over 124 metric tons of rice to his constituents on Thursday at St Andrew’s Catholic Church, Adazi Nnukwu, in the Anaocha Local Government Area of the state. who was on the ground to monitor the exercise affirmed that no money was given to anybody for the project.

* The Transition Chairman Anaocha Local Government Hon Gerald Ikechukwu Ozoh mmili Anaocha has visited Afor Akwaeze to inspect where Anaocha LGA will add new additional structures for the expansion of the business in the community. The chairman in his speech commended Mr Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for providing conducive environments for all Anambrians doing their business across the 21LGA of the State. He added that his administration is well determined to ensure all sectors are not left behind. Responding, the Councillors representing Akwaeze ward Hon Kenneth Onyemalu and Hon Sopulu Mbonu expressed great satisfaction to Mayor Anaocha for bringing dividends of democracy to the communities at Anaocha LGA.

* The scholarship program by Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, has enabled over 200 students from the Constituency to register for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. The program, which is part of the Prof Oby Orogbu Care and Human Development Foundation’s vision to empower the youth and foster academic excellence in the state, also offered mentoring and guidance for the candidates.

After passing a rigorous screening process, the candidates attended the JAMB capturing session on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, at the Kachukwuru Ventures Staff Development Center in Awka, where they submitted their biometric data and other required documents.

* The Aguata Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike procured brand-new office equipments such as chairs, tables and others, including typing pools with modern computer sets. This is to ensure that the LG workers have conducive offices for optimal efficiency in service delivery in all the departments within the Aguata Local Government Area Council’s Headquarters. According to Dr. Ofobuike, these acquisitions were officially unveiled on Thursday, 16th November, 2023, in a ceremony chaired by the Chairman of Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Barrister Vin Ezeaka.
