* Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo has  re-assured the people of the state that his administration will conduct local government election as he promised during his electioneering campaign. Governor Soludo gave the assurance, while fielding questions from ndị Anambra during a phone-in interactive session with the people of the state at the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), which was simultaneously aired in some other stations across the state.

* Tricycle Operators Popular know as Keke driver’s are set to pledge their loyalty to the All Progressive Grand Alliance government and also assure the Governor of Anambra state Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo that they would vote for all candidate of APGA in the coming general election. The Convener and Coordinator of Anambra Keke Drivers’ Forum, Comrade Osita Obi, said Governor Soludo has really done enough to alleviate the sufferings of Keke drivers in the state.

* Stakeholders at a town hall meeting on Omabala for Senate 2023 have called for justice and equity to prevail at the February 25th elections. The gathering which was organized by Omabala for Senate Movement led by Chief Alex Onukwue, held at Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area was aimed at outlining steps to take in ensuring that a candidate from Omabala axis of Anambra North emerge the next Senator that will represent the zone at the National Assembly.

* The Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Anambra Area Office has recorded another feat as it, last week, graduated 150 youths who were trained in different trades. The closing ceremony, held at the ITF’s permanent site in Awka, witnessed the presence of some dignitaries from federal and state governments, traditional rulers, the media, graduands, among others.

* Eziama quarters, Amanuke in Awka North Local Government Area has celebrated the 2023 Igu Aro festival marking the end of farming season in the town. The event which took place at Eziama Square attracted the old and young in the quarters at home and in the diaspora, as well as friends who joined them to celebrate a successful farming season.

Eziama quarters Amanuke comprises two villages, Isiugugu and Omia and as the oldest of all the quarters in Amanuke is always the first to celebrate the Igu Aro festival annually.

* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has described the late Chief Mbazuluike Amechi as a true zikist unto death who believed in what Zik stood for- Nigeria’s unity. The Governor stated this during the Anambra State Day of Tribute, held at the International Convention Center in Awka in honour of Nigeria’s first Aviation Minister, Chief Mbazuluike Amechi, Dara Akunwafor (The Boy Is Good)

* Anambra State Police Operatives, responding to a distress call along Isseke, Ihiala road, rescued unhurt fifteen abducted Corps members from NYSC Orientation Camp Eziama-Obaire, Nkwerre, LGA, Imo State. 

Information reveals, that the Corps members, finished their three weeks of orientation programs today and were en route to Lagos before their vehicle was intercepted at total junction Ihiala, by yet unidentified armed men in unmarked white Toyota Hilux.

* Umuochiogu kindred of Obeagu Village, Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra state has elected a new executive to pilot its affairs for the next three years. The election, held at the kindred’s hall was supervised by the election committee chairman, Mr Edochie Obiekwe, and attracted members of the kindred at home and in the diaspora.

* The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Anambra Command has decorated 45 out of the 72 newly promoted officers in the state with new ranks. The Sector Commander, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, during the ceremony, said that was the first time in the history of the command to have large number of officers being promoted.

* Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has put in place all necessary health materials to commence free medical healthcare services for women and children affected by the 2022 flood in ten local government areas of the state. The ten local government areas, affected by the last year’s flood, include Ayamelum, Awka North, Ekwusigo, Ogbaru, Anambra East, Anambra West, Orumba North, Orumba South, Onitsha North as well as Ihiala.

* The people of Ogidi has adopted Hon. Obinna Chidoka as a true servant, patriot, unifier and promise keeping the legislator who has remained steadfast and committed to true public service. The name, “Ome nke afu na anya” which literally means, one whose works are visible, was used to describe the calm action lawmaker as he commissions Solar powered Borehole for the community in Ilo Akanya, Uru Orji Village.

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike has called on individuals and communities to support the state government in achieving efficient and effective healthcare system that will be affordable and accessible to all. Dr. Obidike made this appeal while commissioning Saint Michael Hospital, Onono, Umuikwu Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area. Speaking during the event, the Commissioner who explained that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is doing everything to ensure that those living in the rural areas have access to quality healthcare system, said that Public Private Community Partnership, PPCP, which was introduced by the governor is the best way to achieve an efficient healthcare system in the state.
