* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inspected the ongoing construction of Umuogbu Village Flood control infrastructure and other ongoing road projects in Awka, Awka South Local Government Area. The projects, expected to be completed this year, are in line with his resolve to make Awka a befitting state capital. Among the roads inspected are, Unizik-Okpuno-Isuaniocha road, Club Road, Roban Road, Regina Caeli, NECO Road among others, totaling fourteen point four-eight-five kilometers

* The Anambra State government has once again cautioned the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers of Nigeria NASWDEN against collecting fees from welders, scrap metal and metal fabricators in the state. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information Sir Paul Nwosu said that in spite of the suspension of the fee collection by the state government, the agents of the association have continued to operate in violation of government directive.

* The senator representing Anambra central district Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife has solicited for support from the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Anambra chapter. Ekwunife, who was at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Center Awka to interact with the NUJ, Anambra State Council led by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, called for a level playing field.

* Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works has called for adequate funding of Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri to guarantee efficient service delivery. The committee made the call when it embarked on oversight function to the airport. The committee which spoke through its Chairman, Dr. Timothy Ifedioramma explained that they came for on-the-spot assessment of the edifice with a view to ascertaining its condition.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra state, Mr ThankGod Anagor has thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his commitment towards bringing a reform that will change the face of Awka and Anambra State at large and promised the support of the people of the area.

* The Bishop of the newly created Catholic Diocese of Aguleri, Most Reverend Dennis Isizoh, has described the elevation as a call to service and worship. Bishop Isizoh, called for all hands to be on deck in spreading the gospel of Christ in the region adding that a whole lot of other things such as education also needs to be propagated in the area.

* The drive of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to end touting in Anambra State is yielding plenteous dividends. In a swift reaction to Mr. Governor’s assurances to callers on the 3rd edition of his ABS Quarterly Phone-in Programme, the Anambra Joint Enforcement Team (ANJET) arrested 48 illegal revenue collectors from around the state. The operation which was carried out on  Tuesday, February 14, 2023 harvested  the plentiful number of illegal revenue collectors and touts across Anambra State, especially at locations reported by callers during the Media Chat with Mr. Governor. The flashpoints that were raided by ANJET included Bridgehead, Uga Junction, Upper Iweka, Owerri road, Nnewi, Igbo-Ukwu, Ekwulobia, Amansea and Ifite Awka.

* The President General, Isiagu Community Union, Mr. Udochukwu Nnebedum has commissioned and handed over a newly refurbished security secretariat to the community’s vigilante service. The secretariat, according to the town union, is one of its ways of supporting crime fighting in the community and in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of a livable and prosperous homeland.

* No fewer than three thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Amanuke, Awka North Local Government Area have decamped to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. The decampers declared for APGA when members of the community endorsed the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo, APGA Candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Mr. Obi Nwankwo and the candidate of the party for Awka North State Constituency, Mr Chimezie Ikwunne.

* The 2022/2023 Career Day for students of Public and public-mission secondary schools in Anambra State, has been flagged off. The career convention was organized by the Anambra State government, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, and Anambra State Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Awka and took place at Bubendorf Memorial Secondary School, Adazi-Nnukwu.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu has said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has turned Anambra into a construction site. Prince Neville disclosed this during an ABS flagship programme “Talk Am” being anchored by Mr. Emeka Okeke in Awka. The Orumba South Local Government Chairman noted that Governor Soludo has within less than one year in office, turned the state into a construction site that has raised hope of Ndi Anambra in his government.
