* Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has supported a couple, Mr and Mrs Celestine Uzodike who gave birth to Septuplet in Okija with the sum of N15million. The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo who visited the couple on Thursday, made the revelation.
* Enugwu-Agidi community in Njikoka Local Government Area has endorsed the Member representing Dunukofia Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly and the APC Candidate for House of Representatives for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu (Cheleku) given his sterling legislative performance and capacity to practically respond to the yearnings of his Constituents.
* Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, (OCHA Brigade) officials, have at Eke-Awka and Unizik Tempsite Junctions, respectively arrested three suspected government revenue saboteurs for touting and illegal collection of IGR from the motorists and keke riders. When contacted, the Managing Director/SD of the brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere commended members of his team for a job well done while noting that the suspects would be charged to court.
* Association of Digital Media Core Advocates (ADMCA) on Thursday February 16th 2023 held an Independent media summit in Awka, the Anambra state capital. ANN reports that the summit which was themed: “Role of media in countering political intolerance, electoral violence and fake news” had media executives, stackholders and journalists in attendance
* Senator representing Anambra Central District, Senator Uche Ekwunife has lamented that some disgruntled elements are forging her letterhead to blackmail her and pit her against Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party. Ekwunife who spoke at the interactive session with members of Nigeria Union of journalists NUJ in Awka Anambra state said that her opponents are blackmailing her for political gains.
* A non government organization the mass movement for good governance has endorsed the candidate of Labour Party, Hon. Uche Okonkwo for the Idemili North & South Federal constituency. Hon. Uche Okonkwo is the son of former Senator for Anambra Central Senatorial District Senator Annie Okonkwo. While endorsing him, the founder and converner of the group Hon. Chukwuemeka Peter Erobu (Ochiagha Obosi) with over 5000 verified members in Anambra Central Senatorial District stressed that Hon. Uche Okonkwo is the person with the right faculties to represent Ndi Idemili North and South because of his youthfulness and dedication to serve the people.
* The Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Senator Ahmed Yusuf Datti, Thursday, described the extension of the deadline for the Naira swap as weakness on the part of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Datti, who disclosed this in an interview after a courtesy call on Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, contended that for Buhari to have shifted grounds twice there were propensity that he may extend the deadline again.
* High Chief Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi, the senatorial candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), for the forthcoming general elections, was part of the just concluded 2023 Anambra State Political Dialogue (De Mace Debate) held at Professor Dora Akuyili Women Development Center, Awka. The debate was organized by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Anambra State Chapter, Radio, Television, Theatre, and Radio Workers Union of Nigeria, Sejup, and Bring It On Africa.
* Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has flagged off and inspected two on-going road construction projects in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area. The two road projects are the 4.26km Savimovo-Umuofor-Nkwor-Umuhu-Obahu-Okija road (Lot 1) being handled by Engr. Onyemelukwe of Rogel Nigeria Ltd and 4.3km Savinovo-Umuofor-Bright Street-Nkwo-Umuhu-Ubahuezike road (Lot 2) by N.F. Jadoon of Hammakop Consortium Ltd
