* Omor Community in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State has received a modern open space Market Stalls from the Senator Representing Anambra North Senatorial zone, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye. He described the Market project as a benefitting place for Mothers, farmers and rural dwellers who are into small and medium scale businesses, stressing that the facility would boost trade and commerce in the locality, especially in the marketing of agricultural produce, which our people are known for.
* Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has conducted an inspection tour in Onitsha South and Ogbaru, focusing on infrastructure development and resident wellbeing. Soludo expressed dissatisfaction with inter-state buses blocking drainages and mandated a 5-meter clearance. He vowed to make Fegge “the best neighborhood anyone can live in” and announced a new General Hospital.
* The chairman, Anambra State House of Assembly committee on Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Innocent Ojike has reiterated the commitment of his committee in ensuring peaceful leadership in all the major markets in the state. Ojike, who’s also the member representing Oyi Constituency, made this known during his committee’s meeting with the disputing executives of Ogbogwu Market Onitsha as part of their oversight functions. The lawmaker urged the chairman of Ogbogwu Market to go back and meet with his executive members with a view of ironing out the grey areas and report back during the committee’s next meeting.
* The Oyi Local Government Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Harold Umunna Maduka has commended member representing Oyi and Ayamelum in Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Mrs Maureen Gwacham as she empowered women of the constituency. Hon. Maduka made the statement during empowerment programme, starting that Hon. Maureen Gwacham is impacting positively on the lives of her people, alleviating poverty and making the beneficiaries to contribute effectively to the economic wellbeing of their households. He added that the cash grant, if properly handled and utilized by the beneficiaries would have positive impact on communities as well as improve the socio-economic lives of the communities.
* The new Chief Medical Director, Comprehensive Medical Centre, Akwuzu, Dr. Adaobi Igwebuike has called on the staff of the hospital to always be proactive in the discharge of their duties. Dr. Igwebuike made the call during her maiden meeting with the staff of the hospital at the Comprehensive Medical Centre, Akwuzu, Oyi Local Government Area. Addressing the staff, she expressed disappointment at the nonchalant and negligence to duty displayed by workers, saying that her administration is out to met out displininary measures in line with the civil service rules .
* The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Mr. Obieze Chiejina has paid a courtesy visit to All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Onitsha North Secretariat and the Solution Skill Acquisition Centre in Onitsha North LGA. The local government secretaiat is being furnished by the APGA Chairman , Onitsha North, Sir Okwy Madekwe. The SSA expressed his excitement and gratitude on seeing the progress of the project and commended Sir Maduekwe for his dedication to APGA and for providing a magnificent office space.
* The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), has bestowed some special awards on the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State, Godwin Aghaulo for his gallant efforts so far in fighting crime to a standstill in the zone which controls Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States. The committee also conferred an honorary title of “Ugosimba’ and Patroness on AIG’s wife, Mrs. Aghaulo, just as they equally conferred an honorary title of Administrative Expert on the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), Josephine Ihuwo.
* The Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka has charged the Atani and Ossomala/OKpanam Communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State to take full ownership of the water supply projects in their Communities. The commissioner while handing over of the finished water projects to the beneficiaries said that the contract was in line with the marching order by Gov. Soludo’s administration in resuscitating the various water schemes across the state and were awarded to God’s Favour Ideal Logistics and O. A Emma Enterprise Nigeria limited respectively on November, 2023. The commissioner who was represented by the staff of Water Department of the ministry, Mr Okechukwu Onyedibe gave the charge during the official handover of the water projects to the two Communities.
