* The Anambra state Commissioner for Health Dr Afam Obidike says the state government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that Ndi Anambra are free from Lassa fever disease. Dr. Obidike gave this assurance over the recent Lassa fever pandemic in some states across the country including Anambra. The Health Commissioner noted that the ministry is doing all it can to ensure that Ndi Anambra and other residents of the state are free from the virus.

* Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said investigation has commenced over the death of a commercial sex worker who died in Frontline Tourism and Hotels Limited, Onitsha, Anambra State. Controversy has trailed the deceased, simply identified as Chisom, from Enugu State

* The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the on-going construction of Mmiata Anam-Nzam Road. Hon. Udoba who gave the commendation at his Umueze Anam country home said that the road is very strategic to the people of the area, as it is one of the shortest routes for Ndi Anambra West to connect to their local government headquarters at Nzam.

* Property worth millions of naira were destroyed by fire in a hotel in Enu-Avomimi, Enugu-Ukwu, Anambra State. The fire, which started around 4.35am was reportedly caused by power surge. ANN gathered that two rooms were completely razed before the arrival of the fire fighters. Confirming the incident, State Fire Chief Engr Martin Agbili said no life was lost during the inferno.

* Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Health has expressed its commitment to partner the management of Anambra State Oxygen Plant to achieve the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the agency. House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Chairman of the committee, Dr. Carter Umeh gave the assurance when the committee embarked on an oversight visit to the agency in Awka. Dr. Umeh, who emphasized that oxygen plays an important role to the human immune system by guiding it against viruses and bacteria, stated that the committee will ensure that it is readily available for the state.

* A 16-year old boy has been killed while a 15-year old girl sustained gunshot injury during an attack by gunmen who bombed Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, and a police station in Ojoto and Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The hoodlums who carried the attack had invaded the area at early hours of the day with four Seina vehicles, IEDs, petrol bombs and other explosives.

* A member of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in ward 3, Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka LGA, Hon Obumneke Ejimnkeonye Okafor has resigned from the party and joined Labour Party (LP). Hon Okafor who was also the former Anambra state governorship aspirant under the United Peoples Party (UPP) in 2017 and a one time Anambra central senatorial candidate of National Conscience Party (NCP) in 2019, disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday in an official statement made avaliable to the Chairman of APGA ward 3, in Enugu ukwu, Njikoka L.G.A, Mr Nnamdi Nwosu.

* The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has urged the Technical Working Group of the federal government on flooding to produce a comprehensive and holistic report that captures the after effects of the recent flood disaster on the state residents at the end of their visit to the State. Dr Ibezim made the call while interacting with the team during the tour of some of the flood affected Local Government Areas, as part of the on-the-spot inspection of all the affected Local Government Areas in flood affected areas in Nigeria as part of the federal government’s efforts towards proffering permanent solution to flood disaster in the country.

* The APGA Senatorial Candidate for Anambra North, Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, in the company of her Husband the former executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, visited their ancestrial Land, Eziagulu Aguleri where they interacted with the people as as well as the entire Eziagulu ruling organ. Emotions came flooding when Ndi Ichie, Ojiana and Obi Eziagulu showered prayers on Osodieme who knelt before them for their fatherly and Spiritual Blessings towards her Senatorial ambition.

* The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA led government in Anambra State has removed the campaign billboards belonging to a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate in the forthcoming general election. The wide-angle campaign billboards which were erected along the Tarzan axis of the Onitsha – Enugu Expressway had pictures of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Hon. Obinna Chidoka, member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

* Comr. Philip Okoye, the former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP Mbaukwu ward) has dumped the party for APGA, ahead of the forthcoming 2023, general elections. 

Okoye who defected to APGA alongside 200 members of the PDP gave reason behind the defection. Okoye in his declaration speech noted that his decision to joined APGA is in the best interest of the people of Mbaukwu.
