* The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has said that his administration is firing on all cylinders to meet up with its deadline. Governor Soludo made the assertion while inspecting the 26-kilometer Ufuma-Awa-Okpeze-Ndiukwenu-Amansea Road.

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji has called on Ndi Akwu-ukwu in Idemili South Local Government Area to appreciate Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointing their son as Commissioner by voting the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the coming general elections.

Commissioner Onyenji who made the call after mass at Saint John’s Catholic Church, Akwu-ukwu, reminded them of the need to elect those who would assist the Governor to continue to work for the betterment of Ndi Anambra.

* The Coordinator of Ahmed Bola Tinubu Campaign Council in Anambra,  Sen Margery Chuba Okadigbo says the general election will be free and fair. Okadigbo in an interview said

those that entertain fears of voter apathy should not be discouraged stating that elections would be taking place at the various wards.

* The Anambra State Chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, JONAPWD, has elected a new executive. The election was held at Saint Mark Catholic Church, Abagana. Following the dissolution of the former executive members, the accreditation was held and delegates voted, after which counting commenced, followed by the declaration of the results.

* Margaret Onabe, the Public Relations Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Command, exchanged nuptial vows with her partner, Maurice Chime. She described her husband as God’s special gift and that they would be directly involved with God in raising a perfect home that would reflect the good foundations laid by their parents.

* The Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Echeng Echeng, has said that the Command has not received any complaint from the concerned authority, following the emergence of a video claiming that a hunter found some PVCs in a forest at Nnewi. Echeng ordered investigations into the video to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and possibly arrest the suspects behind the act.

*The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has called on Christians to use the period of lent to pray for the emergence of servant leaders in the forthcoming election. Ibezim while speaking on the significance of Ash Wednesday maintained that Nigeria needs those leaders who will be servants instead of masters. He regretted the series of challenges Nigerians are passing through especially scarcity of currency, hike in the pump price of petrol as well as high cost of living and urged the citizenry to exercise patience and anchor their faith on God reminding them that every problem has an expiring date.

* History was made as a book mirroring Igbo Apprenticeship Scheme in Onitsha Markets titled “Igba Boyi” was officially unveiled and launched at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State. The colourful event held at the ASUU NAU Secretariat witnessed the coming together of the town and gown for the presentation ceremony of the book authored by five scholars, Prof. Nkemdili  Nonyelu, Prof. Ezinma Nnabuife, Prof. Chinedu Onyeizugbe, Prof. Rosemary Anazodo and Prof. Blessing Onyima.

* Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has commended the Federal Government on the ongoing National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP), in the State and Nigeria at large. He said the N-SIP is one among the commendable projects, the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has strengthened to ameliorate the suffering of the vulnerable households, groups and individuals across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

* Few days to the general election in Nigeria, a hunter whose name has not been ascertained has discovered a bag containing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voters’ Card (PVCs) in a forest in Akamili, a community in Nnewi, Anambra State. ANN gathered that the hunter later took the PVCs to the premises of a popular radio station, Authority FM.

* A chieftain of the All progressives Grand Alliance APGA Chief Boniface Egbutu has described apathy during elections as one of the factors militating against the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.

Speaking in Awka, Chief Egbutu charged every eligible voter in Nigeria to come out en-masse this Saturday to elect a president that will be a father to all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, creed, party or religion saying that what Nigerians will consider during Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly election is the pedigree of those involved before casting their votes.
