* The Deputy Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Paschal Agbodike has called on the Federal Government to obey the Appeal Court ruling by releasing Mr. Nnamdi Kanu to arrest agitations in the South East.
Before supporting the motion for adjournment, Agbodike who is the member representing Ihiala 2 constituency, maintained that the Federal Government should release the IPOB leader from the already prolonged detention in order to end the insecurity that has already submerged the Southeast region of the country.
* Anambra State House of Assembly has renewed the tenure of the Transition Committee Chairmen and members of the twenty-one Local Government Areas in the state for another three months. ANN reports that the lawmakers extended their tenure in line with section two hundred and eight of the Local government law as requested by Governor Chukwuma Soludo during plenary.
* Anambra Police operatives have averted a planned arsonist attack on the anti-cult unit, Obosi, Idemili South LGA, and recover unexploded explosives and other dangerous materials. According to a release by available to ANN by Dsp Ikenga Tochukwu PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, revealed that the hoodlums came in three unmarked vehicles, a highlander, one Toyota Sienna, and one Toyota Corolla started shooting sporadically and threw petrol bombs in the station.
* Anambra State Commissioner for Works Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma has assured that the State government is committed to constructing and re-constructing durable access roads across the State. Engineer Okoma stated this while interacting with residents of Obosi Community in Idemili North Local Government Area. According to him, Governor Chukwuma Soludo prioritizes the immediate needs of the people and called for more support to the present administration as it is focused on delivering all promises made to Ndi Anambra.
* The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate for Anambra Central Senatoral District Mrs Helen Mbakwe says with good legislation, Nigeria can be redirected to the right path. Mrs. Mbakwe while addressing the members of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ, Anambra chapter at the Godwin Ezeemo international press center on assured the people of Anambra central zone that if elected into office, her contribution will help to restore and return the country to it’s rightful place.
* Anambra State Association of Town Unions ASATU, has called for the election of a President that will give Ndigbo a sense of belonging in the socio-economic development of the Nigerian-Nation. The President of the Association Chief Titus Akpudo, who made the call in an interview said that Nigeria needs a President that will improve the living standards of the people and create more employment opportunities for the teeming youths and improve the economy.
* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR was at the burial mass of Comrade Peter Nkachukwu Ubah at St Peter’s Clavers Catholic Church, Otolo Nnewi to sympathize with the Transition Committee Chairperson for Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi.
Comrade Peter Nkachukwu Ubah who died at the age 82, was the father of Hon. Amaka Obi the Idemili South TC Chairperson.
* Anambra state government has alerted the people of the increasing danger of Neglected Tropical Diseases. This was disclosed during the commemoration of the 2023 Neglected Tropical Diseases Day. The event which was held at the Ministry of Health Complex, Jerome Udorji Secretariat, Awka, attracted staff of the ministry, students from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, development partners among others.
* Youth Partnership for African Development (YOUPAD) has conferred Thomas Sankara prize for literature as Pan African Icon of health renaissance on the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, Dr. Joe Akabuike.

* About six kilometers of roads in Okpoko, Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state are to be completed before March 17 this year. The Site Engineer , Engineer Chima Izuakor confirmed this at Awalite street, Okpoko while interacting with reporters monitoring the pace of work on the road.
* Former APGA national Chairman and senatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Sen Victor Umeh (OFR), has once again affirmed that he remains the candidate of the Labour party for the Anambra Central Senatorial zone, not minding the court judgement that nullified his candidacy a week ago. He made the affirmation while appearing as a guest on Alpha Radio 106.5Fm’s political program tagged Political Heat hosted by Emmanuel Asiegbunam (Mr E on The Mic).
