* Nigerians have been asked to imbibe the philosophy of love, harmony and orderliness in human relationships being professed by the organized public  relations practice, which the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), is the regulatory body in Nigeria. Bishop of the Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, His Eminence Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpaleke, made this  appeal while welcoming a delegation of the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) Planning Committee of the NIPR in Anambra State, that paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

* Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Aderemi Adeoye has said that the asset of Alpha Trust Investment Club, ATIC, amounting to about N20 billion was intact and still growing contrary to claim by a few of its members. Angel Network News reports that Adeoye said this while reacting to a petition by 33 members of the Club to the Inspector General of Police alleging fraudulent diversion and misappropriation. They alleged that their investments were shrouded in secrecy and opacity, with no clarity in sums invested, contracts entered with third parties, and decision-making processes.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anagor has frowns at traders who dump refuse on the roads thereby defacing the aesthetics of the capital city and its environs. Angel Network News reports that Anagor made this revelation in an interview in Amawbia recently. The mayor who specifically issued out the warning to traders at Oye Amawbia market against disposing their refuse on the road, said the warning has become necessary as such practices have become more rampant despite the government’s efforts to promote an environmental-friendly state. 

* Anambra State government has introduced a House Re-painting challenge tagged “Ka Anambra Chakee” , which will run from first February to tenth of March this year. According to a statement issued by Anambra State Ministry of Environment and Anambra Urban Registrations Council, all owners of houses located in public view areas within the neighbourhoods where roads are being constructed are requested to re-paint their houses according to approved colour codes. It said that the streets will be judged on three key criteria which are House repainting, clean environment and clear drainage and houses that have planted approved trees.

* The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDELA, have expressed readiness to partner with each other in areas of core competencies and statutory functions. Angel Network News reports that This was the kernel of discussion on Friday when the NSCDC  Anambra State Commandant, Olatunde Maku led his management team on a courtesy visit to Mr. Daniel Onyishi, the State Commander National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Awka. 

Explaining the purpose of the visit, Maku said it was to strengthen ties and help the two agencies deliver on their individual mandates.

* Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has provided a fresh update on Miss Tania Okpala, the ex-tennis star who was recently taken custody of by the State government after she was found, wandering the streets of Awka. In a post on her verified social media handles, the governor’s wife disclosed that Tania’s current condition is very much satisfactory following her mandatory placement on rehabilitation. Mrs Soludo noted that Tania had been taken to one of the best government-owned health facilities and is responding fast to treatment

* The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr Victor Umeh has paid condolence visit to Hon. Barr. Raphael Asha Nnabuife, former Chairman of Idemili North LGA and Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Local Government Affairs, on the burial of his wife, Late Mrs Patience Ifeoma Asha-Nnabuife.

In his condolence message, Senator Umeh condoled with Chief Asha Nnabuife and the entire Nnabuife family on the ‘great loss’ pointing out that late Mrs Patience Ifeoma Nnabuife was a caring and supportive wife and mother. He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and for the fortitude to enable her loved ones overcome the grief of her sudden demise. He also enjoined the family to sustain the peace, togetherness and progress of the family.

* The Transition Committee Chairman for Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ikechi has called on Ndi Anambra to keep supporting the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration as it meant good for the State.

Mr. Ikechi stated this when he held an interactive session with the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Party Ward Chairmen recently. The meeting provided an opportunity for the Chairman to engage directly with the party’s grassroots leaders, understand their concerns, and discuss strategies that would further strengthen the party’s presence in their various wards.
