The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke has called on Ndi Anambra to key into the Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) model initiated by Governor Chukwuma Soludo for an accelerated development of the state. Angel Network News reports that Hon. Nweke who is the Chairman house committee on Public Petition while speaking to newsmen in Awka, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the conceptualization of the idea which he said has aided socioeconomic growth of Anambra since the inception of the current administration in the state. Hon. Nweke applauded ndi Anambra who have already adopted the PPCP model in their various constituencies, local government, town and villages and expressed satisfaction with the level of projects which were done by the citizenry and commissioned by Soludo during the 2023 yuletide, urging other affluent Ndi Anambra to emulate the good gesture.

* Miss Angela Umeh, a 28-year old female tricycle operator has sought intervention of Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo to regain her Keke that was unjustly impounded for over two weeks by officers of State Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA). Angel Network News reports that Umeh, a native of Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area, plies Aroma junction to Anambra State Secretariat and Federal Government secretariat on daily basis until her Keke was confiscated by ARTMA team led by one Goodluck on January 30th, 2024, for allegedly violating traffic rules.

* Members of the Anambra State House of Assambly Committee on Education on Wednesday paid a familiarization visit to the acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, (COOU) Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha at her office in Igbariam campus. Chairman of the Committee on Education Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke along side his members during the visit, assured Prof. Omenugha that they are always ready and willing to partner with the institution in achieving her goals. Hon. Okpalaeke who is the member representing Aguata one constituency while speaking on behalf of the 8th assembly, congratulated Omenugha on her appointment as the acting VC, stating that it was not by accident.

* An anti-crime squad of the police has apprehended a suspected hardened criminal kingpin in Anambra State. The suspect, identified as Mr. Felix Ndubuisi Ekunie, has reportedly been in and out of the police net in Anambra State since his initial arrest in 2015 by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), who later handed him over to the police. He was rearrested by the IGP special squad from Abuja on Saturday, January 27, 2024. The squad detained him at his residence in Ndam village, Nnobi community, Idemili-South local government.

* Following the victory of the Candidates of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the just concluded Rerun Elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State in line with the ruling of the Court of Appeal,  has issued Certificates of Return to the party’s Candidates, Hon Princess Chinwe Nnabuife and Hon Peter Uzokwe who won the Rerun Elections in Orumba North and Orumba South Federal Constituency, and Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency respectively. 

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze says Super Eagles formation and spirit of team work will earn them victory during the AFCON’S Finals.

In his Congratulatory Message to the Super Eagles on behalf of the State Legislature,on their eventful qualification for the AFCON’S Finals, Rt. Hon. Udeze assured that the players will surely do the country proud by bringing the cup home. The Speaker called on the federal government and well meaning Nigerians to motivate the team in various ways, stressing that the country needs the cup to prove that they are indeed the giant of Africa.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local of Anambra Sate, Hon Amaka Obi has put smiles on the faces of the market women in the council area by giving out over 500 branded Aprons as part of her appreciation to the women for keeping the market keep in line with Clean Green and Sustainable Environment by Gov Soludo led administration and for compliance with roadside businesses. According to the council boss, the exercise was carried out to appreciate the women in the new year 2024 noting that women played vital and greater role in nation building which can lead to economic and political growth.

* Anambra State Government has officially handed over the Ufuma Cottage hospital to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi. Speaking during the hand-over, Governor Chukwuma Soludo said that the decision to hand over the Cottage hospital is for the overall interest of the public in having access to quality and affordable care across the state.
