* Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to choose between thieves and stingy people in the 2023 general elections. He said,”They say I’m stingy. Between those who stole and those who saved them, who do you prefer? If our previous leaders were stingy, we wouldn’t have been where we are today. He promised to increase international airports in the country to six, just as he pledged to end flooding in Nigeria by dredging river Niger and Benue.
* Anambra State House of Assembly, has appointed Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, as the pioneer Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Uche Okafor, made the announcement on resumption of plenary session, today, Tuesday, 10th January, 2023.
Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, who is representing Nnewi North Constituency, will assume the Chairmanship of the Petroleum Committee with effect from today, while Hon. Mrs. Beverly Ifeanyichukwu Ikpeazu-Nkemdichie (Onitsha South 2) will replace Hon. Smart, as the Chairman House Committee on Gender, Women Affairs, and Social Development.
* The socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, on Tuesday, said the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, will give Nigerians accountability in governance, if elected as successor to President Mohammadu Buhari, in the forthcoming general elections. She stated this during the LP presidential campaign rally held at the All Saint Cathedral Anglican Church, Onitsha, Anambra State.
* Anambra state house of assembly on Tuesday held it’s first plenary for the year 2023. In his welcome address Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, the speaker welcomed the lawmakers back and wished them a happy new year. Rt. Hon Uche Okafor assured ndi-Anambra that the the 7th assembly will continue to enact laws that will promote the state
* Anambra state Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Anthony Ikechukwu Ifeanya has met with Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (PEDAN), Anambra State, over the continuous increase and uneven Premium Motor Spirits (PMS) prices in the state against the agreed price the association had with the state government.
Reading the letter sent to him by the Civil Rights Activists on the issue of fuel hike in the state, the commissioner told the dealers that hike in PMS had led to fare increase by transporters, affecting commuters’ daily activities. He further to expressed his disappointment on the poor response of the #120,000.00 yearly due, adding that not up to one quarter of the filling stations have paid, even as he urged them to make use of their conscience while fixing the PMS prices and not to be concerned only on making profit.
* A bill for a law to establish establish the Anambra state oil producing areas development commission and for related matters have passed second reading at the Anambra state house of assembly. The bill which was sponsored by the Hon. Chukwunonso Nobel Igwe had the Support of other awmakers
* Anambra State Labour Party Chairman, Ugochukwu Umeh has described Obi as tested and trusted and would not disappoint.

* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra state power and rural electrification agency and for matters connected to it have passed through second reading at the Anambra state house of assembly. The bill which was sponsored my the deputy majority leader Hon. Emeka Aforka had the support of the lawmakers.
