* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Dr. Victor Ike Oye says Labour party does not exist in Anambra state. Oye, who stated this during an exclusive interview with our correspondent in his country home Amawbia Awka-South local government area of the state, maintained that the party to beat in Anambra state is the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

* The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has called for the support of the war veteransto enable them care for them selves and their families. The Governor made the call during a church service at the St Faith Cathedral Church Awka to mark this year’s Armed Force’s day. Governor Soludo represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu appreciated the efforts of all the security agencies in the state in fighting insecurity and criminalities, as well as those who have served in various theaters of war.

* Bishop on the Niger West Right Reverend Jonson Ekwe advocated integrity, loyalty, discipline, and core values amongst the various security agencies, noting that when the righteous is on throne, the people rejoice.

Ekwe made these statement during a church service at the St Faith Cathedral Church Awka to mark this year’s Armed Force’s day. While condemning all forms of sychophancy, the bishop noted that such aids crime and called for collaborative relationship as a way of tackling insecurity in the nation as well as address issue of hunger. He called on Nigerians to vote in competent administration to restore the nation to it’s glory.

* Gunmen who were armed to the teeth invaded bank road axis of Nkwo-ogbe market Odata Ihiala in the dead of the night and shot sporadically killing 4 unsuspecting law-abiding innocent citizens in the mayhem.

On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, two Hilux vans loaded with the personnel of the Nigerian Army were spotted making their way through Nnewi park enroute Orlu road axis of Ihiala about 8am. Thereafter, panic ensued and people began to scamper for safety. It was gathered that gunmen had invaded the area killing 4 persons which prompted the rescue mission.

* The Church of the Pentecost, Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area has been dedicated by the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim who led other bishops and the clergy to the event. The new church building was financed by a philanthropist and parishioner of the Church, Prince Arthur Eze. The dedication service drew captains of industry, community and church leaders from different denominations including the Anglican Bishop of Niger West, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe, his Mbamili counterpart, Right Reverend Obiora Uzochukwu, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor of Awka Catholic Diocese, and the traditional ruler of Ukpo, Igwe Robert Eze,as well as Chief Emma-Bishop Okonkwo.

* A lecturer, Mrs Uzodike Ngozi in the Department of Business Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka Anambra State, has been delivered of a set of seven twins (Septuplets)- two boys and five girls. Mrs Uzodike who was delivered of the septuplets at Obijackson Women and Children Hospital Okija was full of tears both that of joy and sorrow as she complained of having not been paid salary since she was employed in the Department of Business Administration of UNIZIK in December 2020.

* Nnachi Brothers Exclusive Club has offered scholarships to all pupils of five primary schools in Umunnachi, in Dunukofia Local government area. The schools are-Central school, Community primary school, Eziagu primary school, Igwebuike Migrant primary school and Obiechi primary school. The programme took place at Umunnachi Civic Centre. According to the President of Nnachi Brothers Exclusive Club, Chief Valentine Aniekewe the scholarship scheme is their own way of supporting the progress of the town as according him education is a vital key to the development of any society.

* Modozaic FC has won the twenty-third Abagana Unity Championship for 2023.

Modoziac FC defeated Diamond Lady FC 1:0 at the finals to lift the cup. The tournament, sponsored by Abagana Youths Association, Lagos Branch, was played at Igwebuike Primary School field, Abagana, Njikoka Council Area. The tournament is aimed at promoting unity among the youths of the community and channeling their minds towards positive living in the society.

* Alor community in the Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State while playing host to Hon. Obinna Chidoka, member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives described him as people oriented and well grounded. The ward rounds, form part of the Federal Lawmaker’s constituencies campaign interaction with his constituents.

* The State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Sir Nobert Obi has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for demonstrating commitment in fulfilling promises made to the people. Speaking in Awka, Sir Nobert expressed satisfaction with the achievements recorded by the Governor so far. The ongoing massive construction of strategic roads in various parts of the state and efforts to eliminate crime and criminality confirmed that he is well prepared and equipped to deliver his vision to Ndi Anambra and make the state a model in the country.
