* The Governor of Anambra state Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has approved the incorporation of the five thousand (5000) youths currently undergoing training into corporative societies. The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha-Mba made the  statement during a Town Hall Meeting between Stakeholders and Community Leaders from Anambra North Senatorial Zone dubbed “Close the Gap Initiative.” held at Onitsha.

* Anambra State Police operatives have rescued one abducted victim and recovered a Tacoma jeep with reg No KJA 22 GB along Uga Akokwa road. The Police operatives while on patrol sighted the motionless vehicle in a bush along Uga, akokwa, road opposite a fuel station. The Police operatives approaching the vehicle discovered a man struggling for breath and with marks of violence all over his body, the victim has been taken to a hospital where he is currently receiving medical attention.

* Members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra chapter pays condolence visit to Rev Fr Obinna Dike, Founder and Chairman, Anambra Independent Football League and chairman, DOSAD FA, Enugu-Ukwu at the burial of his father, Late John Nwakozo Dike.

* Anambra State Deputy Director Media and Publicity, Atiku-Okowa 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Uloka Chukwubuike, has mocked supporters of Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, over the rally held in Onitsha, the commercial city of the state. Commenting on the outcome of the rally, in a statement in Awka, on Thursday, Mr. Chukwubuike, said no notable Igbo stakeholders or leaders attended the function.

* The Faculty of Biosciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has awarded leadership, professional and community service awards to different deserving personalities as part of activities marking its 2nd international conference held on January 10 and 11, 2023.

The post-conference party and awards took place on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the ASUU-NAU Secretariat.

* The lawmaker representing Ogbaru 1 state constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwunonso Noble Igwe, has lamented that some communities in Ogbaru local government area of the state have not seen electricity for many years.

Igwe, who revealed that communities like Ogwuikpele, Ogwuaniocha, Akili-Ogidi, Obagwa and some others have not seen electricity from the national grid, maintained that these communities had been living in total darkness for many years culminating in underdevelopment of the areas

* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency election in Anambra State, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelu’eze), has taken the message of hope to Obosi Community, in Idemili North local government of Anambra State. Addressing the visibly happy people of Obosi, Iyiegbu assured them of his commitment to bring about genuine development to Obosi and other communities in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency.

* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo says the state will continue to implement strategic health policies to eliminate maternal and infant deaths. The governor’s wife stated this in Awka during the training of health care workers on clinical procedures for ending neonatal deaths in Anambra State. The programme tagged “Neonatal Roundtable and Helping Babies Breathe”, is supported by UNICEF and Nonye Soludo Initiative, and covers one hundred health workers each in four clusters selected from public and private health facilities in the twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State.

* In continuation of her campaign to represent the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, arrived Nnobi, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.

The Senator began her tour of the community with a visit to the traditional ruler, HRM Igwe Muodum Nike Obi (Igwe Omenyili) and his cabinet to thank them for their massive support in the last elections and officially inform the Nnobi Traditional Council of her intention to seek re-election, having performed creditably well to the satisfaction of the majority of the people in the zone. Ekwunife also used the opportunity to list her achievements in the community, noting that if re-elected she will do more for Nnobi people.

* The National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye played host to the members of Umunuga Kindred Ngene Village Amawbia at his Graceland Villa Amawbia on thursday 12th January 2023. The  APGA National Chairman who is also a bonafide member of the kindred, disclosed that the gathering is for him to stay with his kinsmen, interact with them and to show unalloyed support to them.

* The APGA flag bearer for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Dozie Ferdinand Nwankwo (Onyendozi) has continued to demonstrate an uncommon political involvement that incorporates and brings on board the grassroots to the system for an inclusive agenda. This unique approach, understanding of the political structure, and correctness were once again displayed at the constituency office in Enugwu-ukwu, where all APGA and community stakeholders from Abba, Enugwu-Agidi, and Nimo gathered to reinstate their commitment to Onyendozi
