* Fellow of the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria, Dr. Jude Okechukwu Emecheta, says Governor Soludo should be commended for the peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations in Anambra state. Emecheta said indeed ndi-Anambra from far and near returned home en masse for the end of the year cum new year festivities and they all had quality time with their loved ones devoid of the false alarm in the social media that the state was under siege and people should not return to their country home for the yuletide.

* Owelle Nimo, HRH Igwe Maxi Oliobi has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his giant strides in Anambra state. Angel Network News reports that while addressing APGA stakeholders on Sunday at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Leonard Ezeh, the traditional ruler of Abba community in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state said the distribution of seedlings by the present administration is targeted to lift millions of ndi Anambra out of poverty. * Prof Chukwuma Soludo, led a mass of thanksgiving at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in remembrance and honour of members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Angel Network News reports that the celebration which served as a reminder of the crucial role played by the Armed Forces in maintaining peace and security, and an expression of gratitude for their sacrifices in service of the nation, was part of activities lined up to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces remembrance Day. * Police Officers attached to Anambra State Police Command have smashed an armed gang at Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. Angel Network News gathered that the gang which boarded a commercial bus from Nnewi on Sunday 14th January, 2024 arrived Police Checkpoint and were stopped for a search. One of the hoodlums alighted, pulled a baretta pistol and was gunned down. A search of the bag they were travelling with yielded a concealed dagger.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described the peace and corporate existence of the Nigerian citizens as a collective responsibility. In his goodwill message to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, Rt. Hon. * Anambra government through Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade recently arrested thirty suspects for illegal minning in the state. A tipper driver and Mechanic who were amongst those arrested, in an exclusive interview with Angel Network News, narrated their experiences on how they were arrested and detained for two days. According to Mr Osita Okoye, a mechanic, ” We were at work last week Wednesday, 10th January 2023 when men of OCHA Brigade and Ebube-Agu vigilantee suddenly came and arrested me and my driver, tagging us illegal minners.

* Police Special Crack Squad deployed to Ihiala by Anambra State Commissioner of Police weeks before Christmas has foiled an armed robbery operation and neutralised one of the hoodlums. The Crack Squad which works with the local vigilante had restored calm in the ancient city making it possible for Ihiala sons and daughters who trooped in from the Diaspora and elsewhere to enjoy the festive season. Angel Network News reports that one Automatic Pump Action Gun and two motorcycles were recovered from the hoodlums.

* A mentally challenged man brought for deliverance in a church in Anambra State has allegedly picked up a cutlass from the church altar and gave a worshiper a deep cut. ANN gathered that the owner of the church located at Obosi in the Idemili North Local Government of the state had been arrested following the incident. The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was said to be responding to treatment. A source said, “The man of God claimed he could heal the mad man and started praying before the incident happened.
