* Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) Mr. Olatunde A. Maku has promised to support the Nigerian Immigration Service Anambra State Command to stem the tide of illegal migration and human trafficking. Angel Network News reports that Comdt Maku made this promise when he received the new  Comptroller of Immigration Service Anambra State Command, Dr. G.O Nwoke at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Awka. Comdt. Maku pledged his continued support to  the Nigerian Immigration Service in the fight against irregular migration and other forms of trans border crimes.

* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has commissined the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre, comprising of Museum, Library and Philanthropy in Obosi, Idemili North LGA, Anambra State. Angel Network News reports thats it was a double celebration for the former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, who also clocked 91 years. In his remarks, Soludo emphasized the importance of celebrating heroes while they are still alive, highlighting his commitment to recognizing “Anambra champions” and providing them with well-deserved appreciation.

* Engineer Dan Anakpe (Zeelunjo) the newly elected President-General (PG) of Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra state has expressed his gratitude to Owelle Nimo, HRM Ezeoranyelu Max Ike Olio, Onowu Nimo; Chief Justice Ononiba, Cabinets, stakeholders, his supporters and all who made the election possible. Engr Anakpe in his speech calls for support, suggestions and constructive criticisms, stating that his administration will be open and transparent.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth,Chief Emeka Anyaoku as the pride of the African nations at the International Community in view of his quality service.

Felicitating Chief Anyaoku on his ninety- first birthday, Rt. Hon.Udeze noted that Chief Anyaoku discharged his duties at the Commonwealth of Nations creditably and was recognized by various organs of the International Community.

* Chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission Hon. Patrick-Estate Onyedum has charged coaches and sports associations in the state to embark on aggressive talent discovery and development. Angel Network News reports that Onyedum gave the charge at the meeting between the management of the Commission with Coaches and Secretaries of sports associations in Awka on Friday.

* The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has said that the focus of the new management was to strengthen the operations of the agency and reposition it for improved service delivery. The Anambra born professor, who was recently appointed to headship of the agency spoke while declaring open a 3-day NiMet management retreat.

* The Anambra governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, says she is hopeful that the expected delivery of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to the state will bring to an end the era of the dangerous disease. Mrs. Soludo stated this in a message to kick off the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in Anambra State. ANN gathered that Cervical Cancer Awareness Month is commemorated globally in January to increase awareness and education on the prevalence and threat of the fourth commonest cancer among women, and also to get more stakeholders involved in the fight to completely take it out.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been commended for prioritizing the health needs of Ndi Anambra through massive investments in the sector. This commendation was given by the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Comrade ThankGod Anago in Awka. Eulogizing Governor Soludo for his developmental strides in the health sector, Comrade Anago noted that the Governor’s free antenatal and delivery offered to the women and mothers in the state is one of the best policies of the current Anambra state government.

He maintained that the gesture has not only reduced the financial burden of such services from the beneficiaries, but also significantly reduced maternal mortality and morbidity in the state.

* It was a celebration of remarkable achievements, growth and unity for the past one year as Ozubulu Unique Club celebrated its one-year anniversary recently. Ozubulu Unique Club, is a club with the mission to touch lives of community members and foster peace, progress and development. The one-year anniversary was marked with the commissioning of a security house and security tower constructed by the club to fortify the safety of life and property in Ozubulu. Commissioning the facilities, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, expressed gratitude to the club for its dedication to the Community’s welfare, acknowledging their role in restoring community security.
