* A one-day sensitization program has been held in Awka for relevant stakeholders from different segments of Anambra Central Senatorial District of on how to boost the internally generated revenue profile of Anambra State. The event organized by a Non-Governmental Organization, Social and Integral Development Centre, SIDEC, in conjunction with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room with funding support from of the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), was targeted at educating participants on tax policies and programmes, tax compliance, effectiveness and efficiency of tax collection methods and processes in Anambra State for Anambra Central Senatorial District.

* A seven-man delegation from Bayelsa State Investment Promotion Agency, BIPA, is in Anambra State for a three-day peer learning visit of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA. The delegation is made up of the Executive Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Policy and Strategy, Dr Patterson Ogon, the Director General, Bayelsa State Investment Promotion Agency and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Ms. Patience Abah, among other Senior Special Assistants to the SSG, Bayelsa State, and the Technical Aide to the Director General of Bayelsa State Investment Promotion Agency.

* Senator Ifeanyi Ubah says he will continue to work closely with TETFund and other relevant agencies to ensure that more capital projects are not only attracted but also executed in various Tertiary Institutions especially in Federal Polytechnic, Oko. Angel Network News reports that Dr. Ubah who is the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District while speaking at the convocation ceremony of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko on Friday, after receiving a Fellowship Award which is the highest Award given by the Polytechnic, expressed gratitude to the institution for the award 

* Anambra state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare through the legal unit has taken Mr. Ugochukwu Joseph Uchenna, owner of New Centuary Medical Complex Mortuary Isuaniocha, Awka North Council Area, to court over missing corpse of a twenty-six-year-old female, Chinonso Okeke. Angel Network News reports that the case has been filed and called up at Magistrate Court Achalla for hearing. According to the complainants, Mrs. Rejoice Odogwu, sister to the deceased, and Mr. Sopuruchukwu Okeke, husband to the deceased, the late Chinonso’s body was deposited at New Centuary Medical Complex Mortuary Isuaniocha on the fourth of August, 2023, and when they were ready to bury their dead, they were given another corpse.

* Honourable Solomon Chukwuebuka Onwuemene, the State Director Anambra Anti-Touting Squad, has vehemently declared that any person or persons kicking against the operations of Anti-tout squad is an enemy of the state government. Onwuemene who made this strong declarative statement at the headquarters of the Anambra State Vigilante Service Lion Building Awka, maintained that those embarking on emotional blackmail just to discredit the operations of the anti-tout squad were principals and sponsors of touts unleashing terror and mayhem on the citizenry. He said no amount of blackmail will stop them from carrying out their lawful assignments of ridding Anambra State off touts, pointing out that the anti-tout squad will soon apprehend a certain activitist in the state aiding and encouraging activities of touts and miscreants. 

* His Royal Highness Igwe Gerald Mbamalu, Eze Ojoto 3rd has revealed that some opposition elements in his community are accusing him of offering a whopping sum of N70 Million bribe to ex-Governor Willie Obiano to become the traditional ruler of Ojoto community in Idemili-South Local Government Area of the state.

Mbamalu who reacted to an alleged protest against him at the Anambra State Government House Awka recently by some Otu Omenani and G-24 Group from the community, further disclosed that the dissidents who have neither come to his palace to pay him homage since he was coronated in 2018 and issued Certificate of Recognition by government nor participated in any activity involving the traditional institution, also alleged that he bribed one Tim Menakaya with the sum of N50 Million to pave the way for his ascension to the throne of Ojoto community. 

* Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Mr. Ossy Onuko said it will not surrender the Awka Capital City Master Plan to stubborn artisans who refused to vacate unapproved locations within the area after a series of warnings. Angel Network News reports that Onuko said this in Awka on Saturday while speaking on the ongoing enforcement of ban on trading on illegal and dangerous locations in Awka. Onuko said the agency had confiscated wares of some of the traders who displayed on roads, drainage and walkways during the awareness campaigns last December but released them with a warning.
