* The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has secured a crucial pledge of support from the judiciary in its fight against vandalism of critical national, state, and local government assets and infrastructure.
The Chief Judge of Anambra State, Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, gave the assurance when he played host to Commandant Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC Anambra State Commandant in his office at the High Court Complex in Awka on Tuesday.
Anyachebelu expressed his gratitude for the Command’s crucial role and contributions to Anambra State’s security architecture through effective collaboration with other sister security agencies, ultimately making the state relatively safe and peaceful for lawful citizens and residents.
* Nnobi Welfare Organization during its Annual Representative General Meeting at the Nnobi Town Hall, ratified and adopted the 2023 draft Constitution of the Nnobi community.
This milestone, as announced by the President-General of Nnobi Welfare Organization, Barrister Dominic Okpala, followed a comprehensive review of the 2011 Constitution.
Speaking to newsmen, Barrister Okpala highlighted that the primary objective of the Constitution review was to promote peace, unity, and progress within the Nnobi community.
He commended the Constitution Review Committee, for its diligent work.
* Igwe Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha has congratulated Igwe Chidubem Iweka, the traditional ruler of Obosi (Eze Obosi) on his appointment as Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council (ASTRC).
Igwe Achebe in his congratulatory message made available to newsmen by Chief Osita Anionwu, his Chief of Staff pledged his support and encouragement to enable him succeed.
Achebe said he was unavoidably absent at the meeting where he was appointed due to a clash with an earlier scheduled event outside Anambra.
* Mrs. Blessing Chioma Nweke who was on Tuesday set ablaze by her husband Mr. Sunday Obiozor Nweke after a family disagreement has died on Wednesday morning in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Mrs. Nweke wriggling on the ground with burns and cursing her husband for his actions.
Sources said Mr. Nweke had accused his wife of being wayward and flirting with other men, an allegation that sparked off an argument between them.
The couple with five children, who were living in Jos, Plateau State, recently relocate to Abagana. The argument raged, the man quickly poured fuel on her, setting her ablaze.
* Christian Mothers have been charged to be alive to their responsibilities. The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese Rt. Rev Prosper Amah who gave the charge at the Basilica of St James the Great Cathedral Atani during a rededication service for the Women’s Ministry of the Diocese regretted the high rate of immorality in the society which he blamed on poor parenting.
Bishop Amah who during the service called on the National orientation and various government organs saddled with the responsibility of enlightening the people on the need to imbibe sound morals and positive values to step up efforts.
* The frontline aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Anambra 2025 Governorship Election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has vowed to develop a homegrown solution towards addressing the rising insecurity in Anambra State, if elected governor.
Ukachukwu, a renowned philanthropist, made the vow in a chat with newsmen in Osumenyi, in Nnewi South Council Area of the state, while reacting to the numerous cases of kidnapping, killings, and other heinous crimes in the state.
He maintained that the situation has gone out of hand because the current leadership in the state is not in tune with the details of how things work especially at the local levels, and as such, has only proffered solutions alien to the problems.
* The Anambra State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has stated that the state, which is known as the light of the nation, is now struggling with the darkness of insecurity and fear of unknown gunmen under Prof. Charles Soludo.
The AAC State Chairperson, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike, disclosed this on Wednesday during a press conference on the state of emergency regarding security in Anambra State.
She said that in less than four weeks, the state has witnessed the abduction of seven prominent citizens, including clergymen and women, as well as ordinary residents, by kidnappers.
* Youths have been advised to imbibe good values and live worthy lives capable of ensuring a brighter future for them and the generations to come, while also laying a solid foundation that guarantees a better society at large.
An Anambra-born philanthropist and MD/CEO of Walata Consults and Services Ltd., Hon. Stanley Nwabueze Okafor, gave the advice on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen shortly after receiving a
prestigious award as a Role Model and Icon of Hope for the Youth in the maiden edition of the Anambra Community Youth Development Award (ACYDA).
Organized by the Youth Wing of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU Youth), the event, which held in Awka, the state capital, on Tuesday, recognized and honored 179 role communities in Anambra State and 21 Star Role Models from the 21 local government areas of the State, for their outstanding lifestyles and their contributions to community youth development activities in their respective communities and local government areas.
* Ndigbo have been urged to give the new leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide all necessary support and cooperation to consolidate on the drive to achieve the Igbo agenda.
Speaking in Awka, the immediate past Vice President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene commended the success of the election that ushered in the new leadership and caliber of people elected into various positions, noting that the presence of the Governors of the Southeast zone was a confirmation of the synergy between the political leaders and the apex Igbo cultural organization.
Chief Okeke Ogene while thanking Anambra State and Ndigbo in general for giving him the opportunity to serve for many years, said the organization would continue to reach out to Ndigbo in all states of the federation to give them a sense of belonging and enjoined the new Ohaneze leadership to focus on improving what has been achieved in promoting the collective interest of Ndigbo and sustain the struggle to ensure that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu is released without further delay.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced plans to rebuild 28 divisional police offices in Anambra State that were destroyed by hoodlums, as part of a comprehensive security overhaul aimed at restoring law and order in the state.
The governor made this commitment during the launch of a new security initiative, Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Peace Shall Prevail), held at the International Convention Center in Awka.
The initiative, backed by the newly passed Anambra State Homeland Security Bill 2025, aims to root out criminal activities through advanced technology, community involvement, and coordinated law enforcement.
