* The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has felicitated with the Bishop of Aguleri Diocese, Most Rev. Dennis Isizoh, as he marks his sixty-eigth (68th) birthday. The Governor expressed great delight as he felicitates adding that over the years the celebrant has demonstrated uncommon dedication to the work of God, and his numerous contributions to the growth and development of the society cannot be overemphasized.
* A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State Energy Agency and other related matters has been read for the second time at plenary. The member representing Ihiala two constituency Hon. Golden Chukwuebuka Iloh who sponsored the bill, while leading the debate said Energy if properly generated, will boost the IGR of the state. According to Hon. Iloh, the agency can be sustained and that individuals, organizations are already declaring interest to partner with Anambra state.
* The Anambra Anti-Touting Director, Mr. Chukwuebuka Solomon said he is glad that his group is winning the war against criminals in the state. The director who spoke through the Anambra Vigilant Group, AVG, Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nweke Nweke said since Governor Chukwuma Soludo shouldered his group with the responsibility of ridding all the streets and motor parks across the state out of miscreants otherwise known as touts, his group are living to the expectations of Ndi-Anambra.
* Anambra State House of Assembly has urge Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct Commissioner for Education and that of Health and all MDA’s to pay special attention by considering those living with disabilities who are qualified for employment in the ongoing recruitment exercise. Angel Network News reports that the resolution was made through a motion sponsored by the member representing Nnewi North constituency Hon. Augustine Ike.
Leading the debate, Hon. Ike stated that the ministry of Health and Education is currently concluding a transparent exercise to recruit more Anambrarians into the aboved mentioned ministries.
* The Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development proposes to partner with the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning on the 1Youth- 2Skills initiative. In furtherance of the arrangement, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha-Mba, visited the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to discuss modalities for creating synergy, aiming at addressing youth unrest in the state.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has received with shock and grief the news of the death of Rt. Hon. Anayo Nnebe, a former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and currently a Special Adviser on Legislative /State Assembly Matters to the governor. Late Nnebe passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2024 after a brief illness. Governor Soludo in his condelence message, described Rt Hon. Nnebe a distinguished son of Anambra State, a patriotic Nigerian, who served the state with honour, integrity, and excellence.
* Two blood-dripping corpses of two individuals suspected to be husband and wife have been seen dumbed at a lonely place in Anambra State.
The deceased, believed to have been gruesomely murdered by yet-to-be-identified hoodlums, were dumped inside the boot of their vehicle with the registration number: EE-621-EU.
According to a video currently trending on the social media, the dark-coloured Toyota Corolla was seen by passersby where it was abandoned by the roadside, along the Tempo Junction Umunya axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway in the early hours of Wednesday, January 24, with the vehicle doors wide open and no one inside it, only for them to discover two fresh corpses dumped inside the boot. Coagulated blood was also seen beneath the boot of the vehicle, showing the deceased may have been murdered in a cold blood.
* Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, in collaboration with Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, have conducted the financial bid opening for UBE/FGN 2019, 2020, and 2021 intervention funds projects. Held at the Utility Hall of ASUBEB in Awka, the event drew participants from various sectors, including service providers, government officials, civil society organizations, and anti-graft agencies.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has mourn the death of former Speaker Late Chief Anayo Nnebe. Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, the Speaker of the 8th Anambra Assembly, In his condolence message to the Late Chief Nnebe’s family on behalf of the state legislature, described the death of Nnebe as a great loss to the state in general. He described the Late State Assembly Speaker as a grassroot politician, philanthropist, devout Christian and community leader who made giant contributions to the development of his home town Awka and Anambra State at large.
