* Anambra State governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has visited his predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano, who was arraigned in court on Wednesday over an allegation of committing fraud to the tune of N4 billion while he was governor. Angel Network News gathered that, as a result of the trial, the former governor had his passport confiscated, and this will stop him from embarking on any overseas trip. Soludo, who visited Obiano in Abuja on Thursday, said he had a very useful discussion with the former governor. He said that, by God’s grace, the travails of the former governor would be overcome.

* The Commissioner for Youth Development in Anambra State, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba and his team engaged in a pivotal meeting with the Honourable Minister of State For Youth, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, at the Ministry in FCT Abuja. The focus of the discussion was the exploration of collaboration with the federal government on the innovative “1 Youth 2 Skills” program recently launched by Honorable Minister Olawande.

* The TC Chairman of Anaocha LGA, Chief Hon Gerald Ikechukwu Ozoh has presented a cheque of one million naira (1,000,000.00) to Mr Chigozie Anene from Akwaeze town in Anaocha LGA who is with the biggest yam harvested from his farm on Thursday, January 25,2024 at the Anaocha Headquarter, Neni. Speaking, Hon Ozoh highlighted Soludo’administration and commitment to promoting Igbo culture and values.

* Dunukofia Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Mr. Onyemaobi Augustine Nonyelum took the World Bank Consultants, representatives of the Federal Government and Anambra State Ministry of Works on all round identification and inspection of some Farm Roads in Dunukofia LGA, including Nawgu (Dunukofia) to Urum (Awka North) farm  road, Ukwulu (Dunukofia) to Achalla (Awka North) farm road, Ifitedunu (Dunukofia) to Umunya (Oyi) farm road, Umunnachi (Dunukofia) and other farm roads in the Local Government Area for onward construction through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

Speaking, the World Bank Consultant, Engr. Mustapha Musa disclosed that the RAAMP which is being supported by the International Development Association [IDA], a subsidiary of the World Bank, and the L’Agence Francaise de Development [French Development Agency or AFD] in the form of loans, is a third-generation rural access road project. He said that this project aims at strengthening the institutional and financing base for sustainable management of state and rural network, where adequate precautions are taken to mitigate the planning and implementation risks of all activities.

* Anambra State has emerged as a force to be reckoned with, securing an incredible four prestigious awards during the ICT peer review session at the 11th National Council on Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) meeting held in Kano. The meeting was chaired by the Honorable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and hosted by the Kano State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf.  

* The transition committee chairman of Oyi local government, Hon Emmanuel Nweke has described Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the best choice ever made by the people of Anambra state. Nweke made this known after inspecting the ongoing construction 7.5Kms Eke Ata Awkuzu/Umunya road with a spur to water works road, through slaughter. He expressed his satisfaction with the quality and level of work at the site. Hon Nweke noted that construction of drainages on both sides of the road and the bridge linking Awkuzu & Umunya have been completed while sand filling/pilling is currently ongoing.

* The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party,  House of Assembly candidate for Oyi Constituency, Barrister Ndubuisi Onuigbo, has been appointed member of Anambra State Caretaker Committee of the party.

The composition of the committee was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP; on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), pursuant to Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).

The caretaker committee is to run the affairs of the Anambra State Chapter of the party for a period not exceeding 90 days (3 months). The committee, chaired by Engr. Chigozie Igwe, has Barr. Clem Ezika as Secretary, Chukwudi Innocent Nweke, Ezinne Patricia Uju Onyia, and Barr. Ikechukwu Chukwudelu as members.

* As part of efforts towards the actualization of the Smart Mega City target of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration for Ndi Anambra, the Anambra State Urban Regeneration Council, AURC, has held a meeting with critical stakeholders in both state and local government levels to crossbreed ideas on how best to regenerate all degenerated parts of the state as mandated by the Governor. The meeting held at the Government House Awka, attracted Transition Committee Chairmen, heads of service, Heads of works Department of the twenty-one LGA.
