* Hon. Barr. Dominic Chinedu Ononiba has declared free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) form 2025, for students of Njikoka Local Government Chairman Area, Anambra State.

The Mayor made the declaration when he appeared on Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) political program on Wednesday 1st January 2025.

* The Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area Hon. Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba has officially commissioned Mayfair specialists hospital built by Dr. Chinedu Ilokanauno From Ifite-ani village Nimo .

Ononiba in his speech, applauded Ilokanauno for his think home philosophy and called on other well meaning ndi Njikoka to emulate the “Aku lue Uno” initiative and philosophy 

The Mayor also thanked Ilokanauno for choosing Nimo to built the hospital, promising that Njideka local government will give the hospital all the necessary assistance to sustain healthy living which is in accordance to the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo who has continue to 

call on ndi Anambra to bring in their wealth and experience to make the State livable and prosperous home land. 

* As part of efforts to boost food security and improve agricultural practices, the Anambra State Government has commenced the distribution of 60,000 organic fertilizers to farmers across the 326 wards in the state.

The distribution exercise held at the State’s Ministry of Agriculture Premises, Awka, brought together Supervisors of Agriculture, Heads of Department of Agriculture as well as Councillors from various local government areas.

Speaking during the official Flag Off ceremony, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Forster Ihejiofor, said that 55 profiled beneficiaries in each of the wards would receive the fertilizers for farming purposes.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Ifeyinwa Uzoka, noted that through federal government and Central Bank intervention, inorganic fertilizers were donated to the state, but were converted to organic fertilizers in line with the Regenerative Agriculture policy of the state government.

* Residents of Idemili North and South Federal Constituency have received relief materials through the efforts of their representative, Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo.

The relief items, facilitated by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), were distributed at Oye Market Square in Ojoto.

Speaking on behalf of NEMA’s Director-General, Zubaida Umar, Mrs. Ebere Ugwu highlighted that Hon. Okonkwo had formally requested federal intervention earlier in the year to support flood and erosion victims within his constituency. Following this, NEMA’s South East Zone conducted a detailed assessment to evaluate the damage and recommend the necessary support from the Federal Government.

* The Mayor of Anaocha LGA, Hon. Rome Ibekwe, has advised workers of the local government to drink less alcohol and consume more water this festive season to avoid unnecessary emergencies resulting from avoidable health hazards.

He said this during an end of the year prayer session and get together organized by the council’s National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

Hon. Ibekwe said that most times people get carried away in the joyous spirit of the yeltitude season that they forget to check what suites their health first and in what best quantity before they consume.

He pledged to continue seeing to the welfare of workers as he moves Anaocha to the right direction.

* Criminal elements in Anambra State have been given till the end of February 2025 to surrender themselves and be granted amnesty or face the wrath of government.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, stated this, at the Governor’s Lodge, while rolling out measures to stem the tide of insecurity that has overwhelmed the state.

The Governor, who also announced plans to launch a joint security operation to tackle insecurity in the state, said the operation would be codenamed, ”Operation Udo Ga -achi”, loosely translated to ”Peace will Reign”.

He said his government had identified armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and touting as the principal problems causing insecurity in the state.

Hon. Ononiba stated that his vision is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo who has provided free education from primary to secondary school in Anambra State.

* The Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra State, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, has released 2025 prophetic declarations with the theme “Crossover into my Year of Divine Grace.” 

The charismatic Catholic priest, fondly called Fr. Ebube Muonso, during the 2024 crossover night, prophesied that in 2025, God will release delayed destinies, and restore lost hopes.

“As the year 2025 begins, God has assured that destinies that have been delayed will be released. God of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry has shown me the code for year 2025, and has assured that He will give you favour you do not deserve.

“God has shown me thousands of wedding rings for the year 2025. He says there’ll be harvest of marriages. He says He will destroy dragons holding destinies. 

* The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has reiterated Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to transforming the state into a livable and prosperous mega-city. 

Dr. Mefor said this while speaking at a real estate summit organized by Reapfold Properties Limited in Awka, outlining the administration’s agenda to providing affordable housing and drive sustainable development across Anambra State.

The Commissioner, who compared Anambra potential to Dubai transformation over the past four decades, emphasized  that similar success is achievable under Gov. Soludo’s vision while highlighting the administration’s initiatives to include free primary and secondary education to break the cycle of generational poverty, digital empowerment of youths and ongoing infrastructural projects that has turned the state into a “construction site.”

He further noted that 25,000 Anambra youths have already been trained in digital skills with a target of empowering one million. He also urged residents to provide constructive feedback on the government’s policies, assuring them of government openness to improvement.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that God is capable of solving the socio-economic problems and other challenges that have continued to confront the masses in the last few years.

Rt. Hon. Udeze in his new year message signed by Mr. Emma Madu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speake, enjoined Nigerian leaders to embrace a new leadership approach that will help to alleviate the sufferings of the people especially by eschewing greed and selfishness.

The Speaker who described the Year 2025 as a year of total recovery and restoration, urged Nigerians to remain optimistic that the Nation’s moribund economy will be revived and restored this year through collective decision by the citizenry to shun corrupt practices.

* After about 16 years of crises, Chief Ifeanyi Onwuegbuchunam, has emerged as the new President General (PG) Woliwo community, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Anambra State, having polled 53 votes to defeat his arch rival, Mr. Emeka, who got 46 votes.

The keenly contested option A4 system of election was witnessed by the Onitsha South Council Chairman, Chief Emeka Orji, who commended Onwuegbuchunam for his victory and urged him to carry everybody along for rapid infrastructural development of their Woliwo community.

Reacting to his victory, Onwuegbuchunam said, “My people go and enjoy over my victory because for about 16 years we have been in darkness caused by those who refused to vacate office.
