* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has urged Anambra residents to support the campaign for clean, green and livable Anambra State by always cleaning up their surroundings and paying adequate attention to their environment. Governor Soludo gave the charge at Eke Awka Market during the January edition of monthly sanitation exercise in Anambra State.

* The Member representing Orumba North and South at the Green Chamber, Hon. Okwudiri Ezenwankwor once again extended the dividends of democracy to the people of Awa. In line with his “One Community, mandate  projects”, the legislator officially flag off the construction of 1km Afor Awa road. The road which is expected to come with double gutter serves as the road to the house of Hon. Ambrose Egwuonwu (Arupuo na Awa) as well as a link road to Afọr Awa.

* The Transition Chairman of Awka South Local Government, Hon. ThankGod Anagor has urged Estate Chairman, Market Chairmen and shop owners to curb the menace of incessant dump of refuse especially along Zik’s Avenue. Hon. Anagor while speaking at a strategic meeting with market stackholders and shop owners on the need to maintain clean, healthy and liveable Awka, urged them to come up with ideas on how best to curb incessant refuse dump. He stated that this is one of numerous ways government engage the public to harness their ideas on what’s works better at the grassroot and implement them. 

* The member representing Anaocha 2 constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly Hon. Ejike Okechukwu has officially hand over the three bedroom bungalow which he built for a widow Mrs. Martha Nwakejiaka of Mgbuwa Village, Akwaeze. 

* The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has charged Christians to always focus on how to inherit the kingdom of God, in addition to giving good testimonies about Jesus Christ. In a sermon at the Cathedral Church of Saint John Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area during a rededication service for members of Aguata Diocesan Men’s Fellowship and Women’s Ministry, Bishop Ezeofor reminded the faithful to always anchor their faith and belief in God despite daunting challenges they may be passing through

* A lawyer, Olaniwun Ajayi, has dragged INNOSON Vehicle Manufacturing Company to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) for failing to supply N415 million worth of vehicles to a firm. Ajayi who sued INNOSON on behalf of Petronella (Nig) Limited, asked the commission to investigate the allegations levelled against the motor manufacturing company and appropriate relief provided to his client (Petronella).

* The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for Anambra Central Senatorial District in next Month’s general elections Honourable Dozie Nwankwo has urged the electorate to always ask questions to various candidates of political parties who come to seek their votes in order to assess their competence and hold them accountable to their promises. The APGA candidate who is currently representing Njikoka, Anaocha and Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives made the call when his campaign team visited Ideani, Uke, Abatete, Ojoto, Oba and Nnobi in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas

* The South East Zonal Organizing Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC)  Dozie Ikedife (jnr), says all is set to welcome the presidential candidate of the party in Anambra. In an interactive session with journalists at his country home in Nnewi, Ikedife said that the APC members in the state are ready and prepared to meet with Ahmed Bola Tinubu who will be visiting the state on the 31st of January 2023 on his ongoing national tour to state for the upcoming general election on the 25th of February 2023.

* The Chairman Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barrister Chike Mmaduekwe has called on all professionals in building to come together and fight quackery in the industry. Barrister Mmaduekwe made the call when he played host to members of Nigeria Institute of Building who called on him at his office in Awka. Barrister Mmaduekwe said the synergy is necessary so that they can sanitize and optimise operations of the builders towards delivering successful, quality buildings that would stand the test of time.

* Anambra state government has granted the All Progressives  Congress (APC), use of the state own Alex Ekwueme Square facility for its presidential campaign rally slated for Tuesday, January 31st, 2023 in Awka, the state capital. ANN reports that the approval was made known to journalists in Awka, over the weekend, by the APC State Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike during a press conference in preparation ahead of the rally for the party’s candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
