* The Senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has supported ndi Abatete in Idemili North local government area and the people of Enugwu-Agidi, in Njikoka local government area, with gadgets to ensure seamless security networking in the two communities. The security support worth over N100 million Naira according to the senator, was to compliment the community efforts that were unveiled by the two communities on the first day of the year, to ensure the safety of their communities.

* Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has officially commissioned a 500-meter road built in Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area. ANN reports that the road, constructed by Chief Josephat Onwualor, is another testament to the efficacy of private-public partnership in driving community development. In his comment, Soludo praised Chief Onwualor’s initiative, declaring him “a champion worthy of celebration.”

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has said that coming together is beginning, keeping together is a progress and working together is success. She made this statement when she joined annual meeting of Iruowelle village in Awka-Etiti, stating that the task is on them to always come together and be united as one formidable front while working for the success and development of the town, local government and the state. 

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has commissioned a market and a 2.27 km road in Eziora Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area. ANN reports that both projects were built by High Chief Sir Kenneth Ifekudu, showcasing the power of individual philanthropy and commitment to local development. Soludo eulogized Sir Ifekudu, calling him “the kind of personalities ndi Anambra should be celebrating.”

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has confirmed the appointment of Prof. Charles Ononuju Ofoegbu as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Solid Minerals Development Company Limited and Chairman, Anambra State Petroleum and Energy Resources Limited. ANN reports that in a release signed by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu noted that his appointment is with effect from 1st of January 2024.

* An Industrialist, Chief Emma Okonkwo has described Awka Millennium City, as the Banana Island of the South-East. Okonkwo stated this during a breakfast meeting and tour of state of the art facilities at the estate by the subscribers of city hosted by the management of the estate. Awka Millennium City is a premium multi-nucleic real estate development that is designed to redefine the concept of urban living within Awka, Anambra state with the developer envisioning  a new residential layout whose development will boost economic activity while increasing the quality of housing in the state capital territory. 

* The age long land dispute between Umunakwa kindred of Ifite Oraifite in Ekwusigo Council Area and Umuosikpana kindred in Akwa-Ụkwụ in Idemili South Council Area both in Anambra state has come to an end. The dispute is said to have started in 1969 and had a Writ of Summons issued at Onitsha Judicial Division of the High Court of East Central State of the Federation in July 1971.

* Nze Ezeakunne Foundation has empowered four persons with shuttle buses, gave out bags of rice to the less privileged and commissioned Ezeakunne Bus Terminal in Onneh, Orumba South council area of Anambra state. Angel Network News reports that the empowerment exercise which is an annual event took place at the residence of the founder of the foundation, Chief Vincent Nwankwo at Umuezeamasi village. 

The beneficiaries of the shuttle buses and rice were selected from the four villages in the community.

* Residents of Anambra State have been warned not to burn any tires or another combustible materials on the road or anywhere again in the State, especially during tye festive period.

The State’s Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Felix Odimegwu, gave the warning in a release made available to newsmen, in which he observed that people usually resort to burning of tires and other materials on during festivities, such as New Year. According to the Commissioner, actions like these release a significant amount of toxic pollutants such as Sulphur dioxide SO2, Nitrogen Oxide NOx 

* Police Command has smashed part of the armed criminal gang that attacked and killed police personnel at Uga, in Aguata LGA of Anambra State. This was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Adeoye in a brief interview. According to him, “since the attack at Uga, the gang had been under close surveillance.
